Newington

Edinburgh is the Capital city of Scotland and boasts both a castle and a palace at Holyrood that is still in use by the present Queen. Parkside sits in a quiet cul de sac on the edge of the queens park. The area is well served by restaurants, bars, sports facilities and glorious parkland. A short walk through the Queens park will take you to the palace, the Scottish parliament and dynamic earth. You can walk the 'radical road' that the Scottish enlightenment movement walked. Heading into town you can walk past Edinburgh university, St Giles and Parliament Square housing the law courts and library. John Knox house a little further with ghost tours underneath the old town now covered since the plague.Traditional mixes with new and a cosmopolitan atmosphere pervades with 4 universities and a large student population with the oldest city university of Edinburgh nearby. A short drive will take you to the coast and the beautiful beaches in East Lothian.
