The Midlothian region

In the South Quarter of Edinburgh there are some beautiful old buildings such as Edinburgh University, Edinburgh Castle also plenty of history in this area of Edinburgh that is known locally as the Old Town, I am afraid the weather is never too hot you will get warm in Summer but on the whole bring some wollies along with you.

The New Royal Commonwealth Pool is now open and is fabulous it has a soft play area and Cafe. The apartment is on the main bus route and the buses arrive every few minutes and will take you all over the city. It will take you down to Princes Street were you can pick up a bus to South Queensferry a fabulous wee village where you will be able to see The Forth Road Bridge or go on a Boat Trip around the bay and there are great eateries there also

of-course our famous International Arts Festival and Fringe takes place in August/September as does The Military Tattoo at the Castle. There are other festivals on at this time which adds to the cultural and social buzz in the city, such as The Blues Festival, The Book Festival and The Film Festival.

In addition the Hogmanay Party is the worlds famous celebration of the New Year. The Science Festival is in Spring time a journey of discovery in its own right and The Children Festival starts the summer with playful exuberence. Details of all Edinburgh's Festivals can be found at

Edinburgh Castle - See the Crown Jewels and watch Mons Meg Canon being fired every day at 1pm

Princes/George Street - Shop till you drop or relax in the beautiful Princes Street Gardens or climb The Scot's Monument

This house was perfect for my 7 mates and I for our trip to Edinburgh for The Open in July. Clean, spacious, big and well equipped is a perfect summary for this excellent house. We couldn't have found a better place to stay. Caroline was very accommodating and was in regular communication in the build-up to our booking. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
