“I felt like at home”

“Handy Location for exploring Edinburgh”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2013

My wife and I rented this property for 5 nights to rediscover Edinburgh and also to visit Muirfield for the British Open Golf. The apartment was comfortable, although the warm weather required the windows to be open when inside and, therefore, the traffic noise was quite significant in the living room. The apartment is well situated with the Royal Mile just a few minutes walk and several restaurants easily accessible. The Tesco Metro just 100 yards away was very convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment to others. However, you need to like walking and be able to climb stairs.

Without appearing disparaging of our wonderful capital city, it's not often that we have cause to repent the sunshine and its necessity of having windows open to cool the apartment! (Just as well the bedroom is so quiet at the back!) Thanks for your lovely review and great tripadvisor score.

“Felt like home”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2013

My dad was travelling to Edinburgh to attend my husbands graduation. To make everything easy for everyone, I arranged everyone's accommodation visiting from overseas (US). My dad being quite discerning (some would say picky!) and having never been abroad, it was important that I find a place that is quality (but not pricey), convenient to city centre (but not noisy) and above all- no fuss. This holiday let ticked all the boxes. Thanks to Susie, the booking process was easy, checking-in and checking-out was straight forward, and returning the deposit was prompt. According to my dad (who is not so computer savvy so he has asked me to include this in the review), the flat 'felt like home', which means a lot because he is such a home-body and his creature comforts are very important to him. The only minor complaint was that the bedroom curtain would not block out the midnight sun completely and it appears as though prior guests had attempted to fix the problem themselves. He wasn't that big an issue for him so didn't want to bother Susie about it. There was one funny problem that we did have to contact Susie for- it seems as though a previous guest had removed the instructions for the wifi in the welcome pack- but Susie was able to text the code instantly so no problem. Just shows you how much she wants you to enjoy a care-free stay. My dad says the next time he visits he definitely wants to stay here again and Susie advised there are discounts for repeat visits, so all the better!

Thanks for the reassuring review. It can be worrying when you're choosing a rental for somebody else so I'm glad your father was so comfortable. There's a discount for repeat bookings so please bear us in mind for his next trip!

“Cosy apartment with on of the best views of Edinburgh!”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2013

It was my first time in Scotland, I stayed here for 5 nights with my parents. The apartment is very well located, in the city centre yet in a quite area. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Princess Street. The bedroom window has a spectacular view of the Arthur's seat. The apartment was very functional and comfortable to stay. I would definitely recommend it. The host, Susie is very friendly and helpful !

Thanks for the great review. The view from the bedroom window is indeed astounding!

“Nice flat close to the city center”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2012

We rented the apartment for a week early in November and were happy with it. It is approximately a 10-minute walk to the Royal Mile which makes it quite easy to explore the city. The apartment is confortable and cosy.

I like that you found the apartment cosy. It's a modern building but still a warm place to stay. Thank you for your review.

“Very Nice stay”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2012

We stayed there for 2 or 3 days. It is like a home away from home. This place has everything you need. You just need to bring your toilet paper. The views from both the front and bedroom windows are amazing and inspired us to climb Arthur's seat (i think it is called). We were able to visit à lot of the city because the flat is so well situated! Very happy about our pick, and also for the Nice welcome gift from Suzie. Would love to come back!

Thanks for the positive review. We've made sure to leave an extra roll! I'm so glad you climbed Arthur's Seat - the views make it worth the trip.

“Lovely apartment, well equipped to see the sights of Edinburgh”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2012

We had a wonderful time in Edinburgh and loved this apartment. My husband and I were travelling with our 1yr old and right from the first enquiry through to our actual visit, Susie was very considerate with our needs. The apartment had everything we could possibly need and was even bigger than we were expecting. It was also really close to everything in the city. Would recommend this to anyone wanting somewhere modern and clean to stay.

I'm so glad we kitted the apartment out with the cot and high chair. We remember travelling with young kids as well. Thanks for your considerate review.

“Fabulous !”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2012

The apartment was just perfect - cosy, modern, spaceful, ideally located in central Edinburgh and with a great sea view from the bedroom including also Arthur's Seat and Dynamic Earth which are within walking distance . The rooms were tastefully furnished and had everything to make you feel at home .The beds were extremely comfortable. The shops , Princess Street, the pubs and Holyrood Park where you can go for a nice walk - everything was close. There is a Tesco shop a minute away from the apartment and a coffee bar with wifi across the street. We enjoyed our stay there very much and we would like to recommend the flat to anyone looking for a central yet peaceful accomodation in Edinburgh. If I return to Edinburgh I will definitely stay there ! Thank you Susie for making our stay so pleasant and relaxing ! Liana

Liana, Thank you for such a great review. We have so much fun managing the apartment. It's great to know that our guests are enjoying it as much as we are. We'd certainly love to have you back to stay and remember - repeat booking always receive a discount!

“Comfortable, easy, and great location”

Reviewed 22 Dec 2011

I live in Edinburgh and wanted to rent a place for family to stay, as I know the best locations and places to be, I couldn't have been happier with the place. It is close to the city centre, a Tesco is two blocks away, a corner shop and cafe with wifi is across the road from the front door. It has a beautiful view of holyrood park and very close to the city centre with all the activities and shops of princes st and the royal mile. So the location and price cannot be beat. As for comfort, it has everything you need, the bed is hugely comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, and the bath tub in particular is very long and luxurious. For my out of town family everything was easy to work and they enjoyed themselves very much, I plan to use this flat again when family or friends come to stay.

Thanks for another great review, this time from the standpoint of an Edinburgh resident! I think it can be daunting for guests to book an aparment in a city they've never visited so thank you for giving feedback on the great location. I'm looking forward to your family's next visit.

“Wonderful flat with great service”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2011

The Pleasance flat was a great, comfortable place to stay in Edinburgh. It was conveniently located within a short walking distance to the Royal Mile, Arthur's Seat, and Princes Street, bus stops on Nicolson Street, internet cafes, and also very close to a supermarket (Tesco). The living room was nice and sunny, and the futon bed was quite comfortable to sleep on, even for more than a few days. The bedroom was quiet and has a beautiful view of the Crags from the bedroom window. Single beds are quite narrow, so I recommend requesting the king bed arrangement, if possible. The kitchen was well-stocked with a small fridge, pots, dishes, and cutlery, so we were able to cook quite a few meals comfortably there. We also had excellent service: Susie responded promptly to all emails and phone calls before and during our stay, and when we had a problem with the bathroom sink, it was fixed within hours. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Thanks for the 5 star review; I think good service is tested most when problems occur so I was delighted that my caretaker could fix the tap so quickly. I'm glad you commented on the comfort of the sofa bed. You're right, the single beds are very slightly narrower than normal singles, making for a king sized double. Bedding arrangements can be changed before (or even during your stay if you're happy to remake the beds yourselves!), we would just ask for a small amount to cover any additional laundry bills. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, come back soon!
