“Amazing.”

I stayed here with my partner for a romantic break away and had the most perfect few days. It was well needed and couldnt have been any better. Every little detail had obviously had a lot of thought put into it. Beautifully decorated and the hot tub is situated well with lovely surroundings. Joanne and Gordon were very welcoming and we would definitely stay here again.

“Very peaceful location and luxurious accomodation.”

Lovely stay following our visit to newcastle for the rugby World Cup. The cottage had everything we needed and the owners cafe and store were also good.

“Fabulous getaway”

Reviewed 14 May 2014

Great location, great hosts, perfect in everyway. Arrived to a warm welcome; followed by a guided tour of cottage, and even had an afternoon tea of sandwiches, cream scones and wine awaiting us after the long journey. Even our dog was allowed to join us. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. Such a tranquil retreat, I would highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for a bit of a break. Would definitely visit again.

“The ideal place to be comfortable away from it all”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2013

Remote and peaceful, located above the small village of Rochester and well placed for seeing this beautiful part of Northumberland. Kielder Water is not far away. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need. An ideal place in which to relax far away from the madding crown. The owners gave us a warm welcome, and made us feel very much at home. The only problem was that Northumberland Cottages did not send an email with travel directions and details about email access, but the owners came to rescue on the day of our arrival.
