This Victorian townhouse is located 50 metres back from the seafront and promenade in Newbiggin by the Sea, south of the mighty expanse of sand at Druridge Bay. Set over three floors it has been recently refurbished to offer quality family accommodation. 15 miles northeast of Newcastle, Newbiggin links the buzz of a vibrant city with the endless beauty of this stunning coastline. 2007 saw the completion of Newbiggin by the Sea's new sea defence breakwater and the first permanent offshore sculpture in the UK called “Couple”. The sculpture of a man and a woman standing together looking out to sea was commissioned by Inspire Northumberland and was a unique project for the artist, Sean Henry. Woodhorn Country Park and Northumberland Museum are only 5 minutes by car. A short drive inland is the attractive market town of Morpeth with a leisure centre, swimming pool, a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants plus the added attractions of a Bagpipe Museum and Chantry Craft Centre. Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and the Roman Fort of Housesteads lie to the west and are well worth a visit. Further north lies the ancient town of Alnwick famous for it's castle and gardens and Holy Island accessible only by a fantastic causeway. “Tafay House”

Although it sleeps 10 comfortably there are not enough bathrooms for 10 and the countertop dishwasher is quite inadequate. Otherwise well equipped and great location for the beach.

Owner's reply: I am pleased you all had a great time in Northumberland and I do hope you will come and visit us again very soon. I am sorry to hear you were upset bout the number of bathrooms and the dishwasher, However the bathrooms are clearly listed in the description (we even have a photographs) Also the dishwasher is clearly stated as a 4 place setting appliance, I am not sure there is anything else we could have done to make you more aware.

We loved the house and the location, with so many bedrooms and us having a large family it gave us all a chance to holiday together. The house was well equipped and the owner had provided toys for the children to play with which was very thoughtful. We would consider booking the house again for another large family holiday.

A group of six adults for a weekend chilling and golfing. The house was spotless and has loads of room with all the comforts you need to make it a home from home. Positioned in a great location just up from the beach in a quiet street just 5 minutes walk from the town centre with plenty parking on the street. The house has good sized bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The living room is of a good size and was more than comfortable for six adults to chill and get comfy in. Kitchen has all the essentials you need with a large dining table and plenty of room if your going to be doing any cooking and eating in. While there I have to add we played 2 really good golf courses at the Longhirst resort which were in top condition for the time of year. There is an Italian restaurant in the town called Due Fratelli where we ate, which was excellent and great value for money. I would recommend a visit to Tahfay house if your looking for a short break. We certainly will return again.

Had a lovely break in Newbiggin by the sea.house was well equipped though dishwasher in small side for big families.facilities in area were great, local shops we used provided good quality food. Italian restaurant worth a visit served good food at reasonable prices. No complaints here.
