“Christmas stay”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2017

A very comfortable cottage, very warm and spotlessly clean. The second bedroom might be a little cosy for 2 adults over a long period but fine for children. The owners made us welcome and responded quickly to our requests for help, including lending us extra glasses and crockery for Christmas lunch. Lots of easy, flat walking along the River Trent and around the surrounding countryside.

Owner's reply: I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and really appreciate you taking the time to give us a lovely review. Kind regards, Louise

“Best holiday home ever!”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2016

This was probably the nicest place we have ever stayed in, it was just perfect, so quiet and in the middle of no where but in half an hour you were in the middle of Lincoln. Plenty of places to visit and eat out but the kitchen was well stocked if you want to stay in and eat. Little touches made a huge difference, towels, soap and things like that left to make life a little easier. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were big and light and it was lovely and clean. Really really recommend Woodlands cottage and Louise made us feel very welcome.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again next year.

“A fab week away”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2016

Lovely cottage, made to feel very welcome and an ideal location for many day trips out. The cottage had every thing we needed and the girls loved playing outside on the large garden.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your feedback. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay.

“Good family accommodation”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2014

After a very warm welcome by Dean we settled into this charming cottage and prepared ourselves to look after our two granddaughters whilst our grandson was being born. The space and accommodation was perfect for two young children and extra toys were lent to us by Jill which, went down very well! The cottage was clean and warm and has a lovely walk in shower as well as a bath. Louise gave us a tour of the calves and chickens and told us about a walk we could do through the wood to see the pond. The cottage would benefit from a washing machine but Louise said she would do washing for us if we needed it. As we cooked in most of the time we felt the kitchen could do with a few more utensils, for example a teapot (Jill lent us one), peeler, some serving spoons and a measuring jug. With small children a couple of plastic bowls and plates would also be helpful. Having spend a very busy week with our grandchildren we didn't have much time to chat with Dean and Louise which was a shame but we thank them, and Jill, for their welcome to Woodlands cottage.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review of our cottage, We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay so much. We always value feed-back from our guests and have put some additional utensils and plastic dinnerware in the cottage. We are happy to accommodate additional requirements for our guests if we are able to do so.

“Great location, fantastic cottage & great hosts, Simply Perfect.”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

Louise greeted us on arrival and showed us round the cottage, the property had everything you need for a holiday stay and represents fantastic value for money. The location was perfect for our needs and we had great days out to Lincoln ( 20 Minutes drive ), Skegness ( 1 Hour 20 Minutes Drive ), Sherwood Forest (30 Minutes Drive) Melton Mowbray & Rutland Lake ( about 1 hour ). So much to do and so little time. We will certainly return. A big THANK YOU to Louise & Dean for a lovely stay.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure having you to stay as our guests. We look forward to seeing you and your family again.
