The England region

Forest Lodge is set in the peaceful New Forest National Park - where the deer, ponies, donkeys and cattle roam freely. The New Forest has numerous attractions to visit and sites to see. Or ideal for just a peaceful getaway. Every season paints a different picture, bluebells and foals in spring to brilliant leaf colours in autumn.

New Forest National Park Hampshire

Ringwood stands on the western edge of the New Forest at a crossing point of the River Avon. For centuries it has been the traditional market town of the New Forest with its market charter dating back to 1226.

Ringwood still has a lively Wednesday morning street market and has remained a delightful, unspoiled historic town with both quaint and modern shops, street entertainment, restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Ringwood features a good selection of shops to browse in including three supermarkets and a wide variety of smaller specialist retailers. Be sure to wander down West Street to view the River Avon from the old three-arched stone bridge or enjoy a stroll around Jubilee Garden. The church too is well worth a visit.

Ringwood is well placed on the Avon valley footpath and ideal for an overnight stop.
There are many other opportunities to discover the area on foot and the visitor information centre can provide details of local town trails and walks.

“Perfect Escape”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here! We were welcomed on arrival by some ponies that we watched most of the weekend from the comfort of the living room! The accommodation was clean cosy and included everything we need for an escape! The lodge was lovely and cosy and had all the mod cons we needed and more. Brilliant quiet location but only a short drive to shops and pubs etc with lots to explore. There was just 2 of us but would have been ample room for 4! Would highly recommend this if you are looking for some clean, smart, cosy and relaxing!

“Comfortable and relaxing”

We had a lovely weekend away celebrating my partners 40th birthday. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and in an ideal location. The fact we could take the dog was a real added bonus. All in all it was a great trip.

Thank you very much for a beautiful stay at Forest Lodge. It was better than expected which I didn't think would be possible! So cosy yet so modern and we felt very at home! We have decided that for every anniversary we will book forest lodge again! The fire was a beautiful feature and we thoroughly enjoyed the sound system in every room and hot tub in the evening! Thank you very much.

Had a lovely stay and would definitely go back!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE !! Horrible horrible holiday horrible horrible owner. I had to message him several times in the months coming up to the holiday asking for the address in which he kept sending a link with was not a real link and every time I asked for him to resend he was really rude about it. I ended up missing the whole of the first day of the holiday as I messaged him the night before to ask for the address so I could head off in the morning and nothing back, 4 times the day of the holiday nothing back and eventually I had to contact holiday lettings for address or I would of totally missed the holiday. Once we finally got there we felt on edge the whole time as there was rules everywhere. We left a day and a half early as it wasn't enjoyable. We paid 275 pounds in damage deposit in which he has kept 125 pounds saying we had damaged a sheet with urine which is not true it was stained before we got there as we saw it and said how disgusting it was. He is now ignoring me messages about my damage deposit being refunded. Disgusting

Please see the 150 plus 5 * reviews and judge this review for yourselves. This guest left marks and urine so bad on the bedding that it soaked through duvets quilts, sheets mattress topper and matress protector. We send photographs and inspection reports and offered her all the bedding that even the drycleaner said could not be rescued. All this went via trip advisor and was fully evidenced and receipted. Fortunately 99% of our guests are brilliant but there will always be one I suppose. She rang us and holiday lettings on the night of arrival at 7pm to say where am I going I don't have directions or an address. We talked her through and got her settled in on the phone. But who else would leave such important details until the last minute and then cause stress for everyone including themselves. Our guests get several automated reminders regarding the welcome pack and directions and the link we send with details is comprehensive and easy to access and download. We clicked on the actual sent email we sent this person to check and it accessed it and downloaded it too so she was not truthful at all.

“Cosy Stay”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2016

Property was easy to find and instructions to access Lodge were very clear, although we were a little daunted by the manual all information was there. All equipment worked perfectly. Fantastic sound system and fittings , lodge was always warm and cosy to come back to especially one afternoon when it poured with rain in Fordingbridge. Gas fire worked a treat in addition to radiators. It soon became too warm and we switched it off! Location was ideal as was Alice Lisle pub just down the road with its amazing selection of Gins. Plenty of walks nearby in country park we would have liked to stay longer if dates were available. Only downside is slippery deck so take care when wet. Odd to find microwave/ dishwasher in shed but worked well even in the dark. Recommended stay.

Great location. Good base for a short stay. Flooring a little uneven and would benefit from a little attention to update. Clean and tidy accomodation overall. A lovely stay.

“Perfect Stay”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2016

I am so pleased that we found this little gem. From the off the communication was excellent and we received answers to our questions almost straight away. We were a little overwhelmed upon receiving the manual on how everything worked and the local area etc but it turned out to be beneficial and we constantly referred to it so that was a good touch. The instructions on where to park etc were spot and we managed to find our way into the lodge (late at night) with no bother. Thanks for the tip off about bringing a torch by the way. We couldn't have done without it! Upon arrival, as promised we had milk and tea / coffee and cold water which was much needed after the journey. The place was spotless and exactly as described. The beds were so comfortable we found it a struggle to get out of them. I had the best nights sleep that I'd had in a long time. That shower and heated floor, wow! All of those extra touches such as the Bose sound system, the hot tub the lighting ideas, the 3D TV and the tasteful decor make Forest Lodge stand out from the rest. It's actually given me some ideas for my house! The little visitors to the gate through the day were also an added bonus (cows, pony's and donkey's). The lodge was a good central base with the Old Beams pub a short 20 minute stroll away. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. My son and I quote 'Had the best holiday ever' which to impress a 7 year old is very difficult to do. All in all a perfect stay and we would not hesitate in recommending the Forest Lodge to our friends and family of all ages. Thank you once again.
