“Excellent place to stay”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2014

Loverly warm welcome (nice home made cake) when we arrived. The cottage was cosy and warm with log fire. Spotless clean Great location on the edge of village, great local wildlife. We will be returning.

Thank you for your kind review, glad you enjoyed the cake. We hope to see you again soon Kind regards David and Dawn

“Wonderful cosy cottage”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2013

A cosy wee cottage full of character and located in a wonderful area. We spend 10 days here at Pine Tree Annex and wished we could stay longer. Although we stayed here in August I have the feeling it would be great for a winter break too. Dawn was welcoming and helpful, and the scones were a welcome treat.

“Lovely little getaway”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2012

The booking process was simple - the web site showed you when it was available and the cost for that period. The annex was very nicely furnished - good quality furniture and fittings. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen area and lots of hot water in the shower! Dawn supplies a good range of basics such as washing up liquid and cleaning products. The bedroom had ample storage for our paraphanalia - wardrobe with sufficient hangers (we even had one left over which was a first for us), plus a chest of drawers. We even had a section of the main garden fenced off for our use. The location was good for getting out and about - particularly the Abernethy Forest area. The village has a local shop which was ample for our needs and the butcher lived up to Dawn's recommendation. Our luggage was very close to the weight limit for flying home after we had purchased a large supply of pork chops and sausages for the freezer. I don't think there was a 'downside' to this rental and would recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

“Fantastic Cottage”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2012

A fantastic cottage, presented to a very high standard and in a great location for the Cairngorms and wider Highlands, ideal for outdoor activities and general sightseeing. The owners were friendly and the welcome warm, especially the information packup and fresh Scones on arrival. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage and would certainly consider booking it again.

“What a perfect find”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2012

We stayed at Pine Cottage on our way north as I wanted to split the journey and explore the local area with my children. What a perfect find! With such a warm welcome from the owners, Dave and Dawn, we almost felt like long lost friends. Perfect hosts. The annex is joined to the main house by a double door and has its own private garden. The accommodation is perfect with a lovely bedroom with beautiful furnishings and the living quarters are very homely with fridge, cooker, and a lovely open fire. Ideal for relaxing after a day out and about. The drying room in the porch was a great idea for Scottish holiday accommodation! I wouldn't hesitate to recommending Pine Cottage - well thought out accommodation, stunning countryside and plenty of activities on hand.

“Warm welcome, smart accommodation, great facilities”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Pine Cottage. The accommodation has just been refurbished very tastefully, was comfortable, spotless and had everything we needed for our stay - including a great shower which is very important when you come in from enjoying the outdoors! The location is within easy reach of all the attractions of Aviemore yet is tranquil and has lovely walks. The Macleans were very welcoming and had lots of useful information about where to go and what to do in the area. We would strongly recommend Pine Cottage Annex to others.

“Great homely stay at Pine Cottage Annexe”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2012

Stayed here for two nights in August 2012. Absolutely lovely, really modern and clean - can tell the owners have put a lot of work in to doing the place up from scratch. It has a real fire which makes it really homely and the shower is AMAZING! Owners have really thought about their visitors with linen and towels provided, free wifi, lots of information on local area, tea, coffee, milk and scones all on arrival! Annexe is situated in a little village about a ten minute drive from Aviemore but has all the amenities you could want - local shop, butchers etc.

“Beautiful cottage which makes you feel at home.”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2012

Very nice decorated annexe with full equipment. Very friendly en helpfull owners. It is a nice environment with lot's of things to do in a short distance of the annexe, like walking, shopping, a steam train... Surely we will visit it again if we come back to Scotland!
