Couples and families will all find something to delight them. The Annex consists of a large open plan lounge with a well equipped kitchen, and double doors out to a sunny private patio. Here you can barbecue and enjoy some outdoor living. In the kitchen you have a double oven, induction hob and dishwasher. The oak floor is warmed by under floor heating which extends into the luxurious bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other, overlooking a lake, with a king size bed. Both are made up with crisp fresh cotton bed linen, and fluffy towels are provided. The washing machine and freezer are nearby in utility room, shared with the owner.

We have secure and convenient bike storage so why not bring your bikes and explore the many cycle routes in the area. If you'd like to bring a boat there's plenty of space for a trailer.

Children are well provided for with toys, books and DVDs for when the beach is out of the question! Beach equipment such as wind breaks and sun umbrellas are also included.

Our commitment to green living makes this not only a special place to stay but also a sustainable one, with hot water and electricity coming from the sun, which shines a lot here in Dorset!

Location description from owner

The England region

If you're after clear air, sweeping cliff walks, breathtaking views and snug little towns brimming with restaurants and shops to explore, Dorset is for you!

Dorset is as multi-layered as the famous fossil flecked cliffs along its Jurassic Coast - a stunning stretch of 200 million-year-old shoreline that has been designated a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its outstanding geological make-up.

The charming countryside Dorset has to offer has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it's easy to see why - take some time to discover this beautiful county at your own pace.

There is more to Dorset than just fabulous scenery and magnificant coast - the history of this county is rich and vivid. How many areas do you know that can boast a huge naked chalk giant, England's first Natural World Heritage Site and the largest hillfort in Europe!!

All over Dorset, you'll uncover charming market towns and tiny tranquil villages. Each town has its own individuality, character and history to relate.

It is no wonder that the area has captivated film and TV makers from all over the world. Productions of all kinds have been filmed on location here, with Dorset's unspoilt countryside, dramatic coastline and spectacular historic houses and gardens being used as a backdrop to the action.

Bridport and West Bay has a starring role in Broadchurch, the hit TV series written and created by Chris Chibnall. The cliffs, the sea, and the beach are all key elements of the story. It shows so well what a beautiful area this is.

Netherbury

Set amongst the spectacular rolling Dorset hills, Bridport is a lively town with a friendly and vibrant character. Famous as a centre for local food producers, Bridport is proud of the number and variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes that serve excellent food. On Saturdays there is a brilliant market featuring everything from fruit and veg to crafts and antiques; there is also the 'vintage quarter' where you can browse to your heart's content. The arts are well provided for too; the Arts Centre and Electric Palace both have a widely varying programme. There are festivals galore - celebrating everything from books, food, beer and hats! Check out bridport.n0tice.com to find out exactly what's on, when.

A mile south of the town is West Bay, a bustling little harbour which becomes a popular tourist resort in the summer months. Visitors can do a spot of crabbing, take a fishing boat trip or simply sit on the harbour side and unwind to the soft lapping of the waves and tinkle of the boat masts.

The closest village, Netherbury, is one of Dorset's prettiest. In the Spring, snowdrops line the lanes, and you can eat out or enjoy local beer in the Hare and Hounds pub, or take a horse out for a ride from the nearby riding stables. Many beautiful walks can be enjoyed from the cottage.

“Fabulous holiday in a beautiful cottage.”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2016

Only half way through our holiday but what a fabulous time we are having. The annex is a beautiful place with everything that you could need. The wifi is great which is rather important for our 14 year old daughter! Everything is clean and the welcome pack from Yvonne and Graham was very useful when we arrived. The location is great, very quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend Springfield House.

“Welcoming, cosy, tastefully furnished, near to great places to visit”

I stayed here with my husband and teenage daughter. We found it comfortable, with plenty space inside and a nice terrace with a BBQ. It has been recently renovated and has all you could need. Wifi worked in certain spots (which our daughter found instantly). The bedrooms are warm and cosy, everything in the kitchen works as it should. Yvonne and family made us feel very welcome, and we would definitely return there.

“Excellent”

Our first visit to the Annexe with our grandchildren aged 5 and 9. Situated in beautiful countryside just outside Bridport this is a delightful property, light and airy with every need anticipated. The children enjoyed seeing the Canada Geese on the lake, collecting eggs for breakfast and going to the beaches at West Bay, Charmouth and Lyme. All in all a perfect few days, we will certainly be back.

“An absolutely perfect country visit with home comforts, and the most comfortable stay we could have hoped for!”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2013

Right from our arrival, Yvonne and Graham made us feel so welcome on their beautiful small holding farm... complete with pigs and chickens! We even had a breakfast hamper of local produce left out for us(with eggs laid by the chickens that morning!), and the fire was already lit to make us feel at home. The accommodation was top class, with all the mod cons including a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful bathroom, and dishwasher. We wandered around the countryside, spent time in the local pub and drove to West Bay for a stunning walk along the beach. Even the bed was wonderfully comfortable. We had an amazing stay, and have already recommended this lovely luxury cottage to our friends and family. I will remember this cottage for an awfully long time... Thank you so much Yvonne and Graham.
