The Costa Del Sol enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine per year and a enjoyable all year round climate with a typical winter temperature of 10-20C.

Day trips can be made to Seville, Alhambra Palace in Granada and Marbella which is further down the coast with its famous marina and international boutiques and shops. You can play golf at the Baveria Golf Club, fifteen minutes drive away and also at Anoreta Golf at Torre de Mar. Other sporting activities include skiing, horse riding, water sports and walking. Water World, a popular attraction is nearby at Torre del Mar.

Nerja

Nerja is situated 45 minutes east of Malaga between the Sierras and Mediterranean Sea. It is an old fishing village with typical narrow Andalucian streets and white washed houses having retained it’s charm whilst providing a wide choice of restaurants and bars as well as lovely beaches and pretty coves. The famous Nerja caves, with some of the world’s most impressive stalagmites and stalagtites, and the charming villages of Frigiliana and Maro are only a short drive from Nerja.

“Luxury Villa in a Superb Location”

My girlfriend and I stayed at Golden Hills for a week in September with our friends who are a married couple. The Villa has 2 large, double rooms both with excellent en-suites so the configuration was perfect for us. The bedrooms also have access to one of three very large sun terraces all of which come with excellent views. The roof terrace is blessed with sunshine all day round and is perfect for breakfast in the sun. We used the living room terrace for watching the sun set with pre-dinner drinks. This was most definitely one of the highlights of our holiday! The Villa is of very high quality and comes with everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped and even has a dishwasher. We dined al-fresco on the terrace on two evenings and found the local Supermarcado to be both well stocked and of good value (1kg of fresh mussels for less than 2 euros!). The living areas are bright and spacious and the free wifi is a bonus. Burriana beach (a 5 minute walk away if you take the shortcut through the pool area) provides an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. We particularly enjoyed dinner at Merendero Moreno (great Flamenco dancers), Playa Sol and El Rincon Del Sol which had a large fresh fish display. Paradise Cocktail bar served up really good value cocktails and also provided a good option for watching the football. Dining options are also aplenty around the Balcon Europa (15/20 min walk or short drive/bus journey), Terraza Freiduria Mar Bella was particularly good with an entertaining Mariachi band. There are also lots of traditional tapas bars around the Balcon which all seemed very well priced. You really are spoiled for choice. All in all a great stay at a superb house in a beautiful part of Andalucia. Communication with the owners was first class and the information pack with detailed directions was very useful. The location allows for easy exploration of surrounding areas. Frigiliana is a beautiful village around 15 minutes drive away, visiting here is a must. The Nerja caves are also well worth a visit, very impressive!

“Golden Hills - Golden Holiday”

This was the third time we had stayed at Golden Hills so we knew what to expect. Everything is there in this modern, sparkling house. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The only problem with lavishing so much praise is the fact that we might not be able to get the dates we want next time because of other people wanting to get there too!!!

“A touch of quality!”

We stayed at this property in September 20011 and it was fabulous! By we I mean myself and my wife and my mother. This is what is known as a townhouse rather than a apartment. It has three floors and each floor has it's own generous terrace and lovely views. The entrance is on street level and opens on to a large open floor with a marble staircase that goes upto a large solarium deck that gets the sun allday long. Downstairs are the two large bedrooms and a utilty room. We had the double room which had a full wetroom en-suite and Queen sized bed. Unlike most holiday properties there was plenty of wardrobe and storage space and a safe. It was really nice to walk from either bedroom on to a very large terrace complete with sunloungers. My mothers room had two large twin beds and an en-suite bathroom that actually had a bath in it which she loved. The living area is very relaxing and beautifully light and airy. it has two large opening windows that lead to the mid terrace. I was nice to sit there in there morning having breakfast against the backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains and in the evening with a bottle of wine watching the twinkling lights up the hillside. This floor has three dining tables. One on the terrace one off the hall in a seperate dining room and a large six seater wooden table in the living room. Although there were only three of us we did actually use them all at different times. Together with the two sofas, large screen TV with Free Sat and open plan living it all made very comfortable base for our first foray to that part of the Costa del Sol. Nerja itself is very nice indeed and has retained it's Spanish-ness even though the town is well geared up for tourists. Could write pages on what we did but I will limit it to say that central attraction is the Balcon de Europa. Spreading back from this inland are lots of wonderful streets with good shops, fabulous restaurants and nice bars. Burriana Beach is just below the house and is a dedicted holiday beach wth every concievable convenience you could want. includuding sunlougers and straw umbrellas, restaurants with sand floors that cook fresh fish on stakes over open charcoal fires. On the other side there are many varied restaurants and bars and shops parralell to the beach. Nerja is close two many beautifull mountain villages that are well worth visiting such as Figillana and it is only one hours drive to Granada and the fantastic Alhambra.
