Our four double bedroom (one of which is internal) airconditioned villa with private swimming pool and also access to the large community swimming pool is probably one of the best at Edificio Residencial Aljamar as it has a very large terrace. Being situated on the corner of the entrance to the Edificiio and opposite the large community swimming pool which our guests can also enjoy the sun is enjoyed on the villa terrace from early morning to evening most of the year round. (Note the pools at this Edificio are open in the summer months and usually not open Nobember through to end February). It is on three different levels with the upper level accessed by the main entrance having a very large and well appointed kitchen, a large L shaped lounge/dining area and a toilet. On the second level going downwards there are three large double bedrooms housing inbuilt wardrobes and a separate bathroom. On the ground floor level there is the garage which can house easily park up two cars or can be used in parts as a teenager's den or store. Another bathroom is housed here , a further internal double bedroom and if you are seeking a 10 bedded villa there is a small internal bedroom housing two individual beds. So for a large family or a group who wish to spend their holiday time together the renting of this house can work out to be very economically. Residencial Aljamar itself is one of the most popular and elegant zones in Nerja as it is surrounded by green areas with plenty of car parking space. It is a peaceful haven and very popular. In fact the site has had to be electronically gated so that only the guests at the Edificio and the owners can use the community swimming pool.Being so close to the popular beach of Burriana is another reason why it is so popular and with the Spanish supermarket Supersol and Mercadona also being within a short walking distance means the zone is in an excellent position for holiday makers. WIFI IS AVAILABLE AT THIS PROPERTY AND IT IS FREE. Our spacious apartments Aljamar 4 and 5b at the Edificio are also available for renting. So please view these if you are planning to come with a larger group and you are needing more properties closeby to rent. As the direct owners we can provide you with the link to these properties and also the links to our other properties centre to the town and beaches - apartment in Edificio Hawaii (Calle Canarias) central and also our newly constructed three bedroom villa (Calle Marie de Waard) with private pool and car parking space within the boundary of the private terrace. Extra items such as cots, high chairs etc. are available i all our properties so please let us know when you book what your requirements are likely to be so that we can be sure to have the villa prepared in the way you would like. We have also provided quotations in Euros. If you wish to pay in pounds sterling this can also be arranged.Just a word about smoking - we do not encourage this in any of the properties and would ask you in the interest of all our guests only to smoke on the outside terraces, Please note that the TV is a new one and has a port for an HDMI cable so if you wish to watch tv channels of your choice i.e. from the UK you will need to stream these via your computer. A dog msy be permitted for longer term rentals but only if approved by the owner at the time of enquiry.

Our quotation is based on 8 people in the group although it can accommodate 10 guestswhen an extra charge is made for the two further guests We have enjoyed great reviews for this property except for one guests who in one week did not take any rubbish from the villa and consider her review unfair. Nerja is particularly safe for pedestrians. Much of the centre has no cars allowed with bollards being used for authorised vehicles only and local and national police visible on the streets most of the time.

Getting around

The villa is well placed and very close to Burriana Beach. The local supermarkets of Mercadona and SuperSol are also closeby. If you have not hired a car or indeed do not wish to use the car in the high season as the centre of town is very busy then you can take the local bus into town - the bus stop is within 3 minutes walk from the villa. We provide maps and contained in our local information pack there are references to the wider region i.e. places that you might wish to visit especially if you are staying for a longer period i.e. historical cities like Granada and Malaga and two waterparks.

Interaction with guest

At the commencement of your enquiry we will aim to rspond within 24 hours European time. My husband and I are the direct owners and as administrator I should be able to answer most questions. We would urge an early decision as our propeties are in great locations and are very popular. Once you have paid your deposit I will commence our internal confirmation which we are required to do by Andalucian law and I will be able to let you know the information required. We can offer to make the taxi airport transfers or put you in touch with Pablo for car hire. Once you have pad the balance we shall then be able to exchange communication details. On your arrival day if it is late you will be able to access the property using the keylock safe.

However if guests arrive on the same day we will do our best to accommodate departure but have to consider cleaning time in which case the time for departure is 10 am..

My family including Grandparents stayed here for a week in August. Before our arrival contact with the owners was excellent and Marion provided us with lots of tips for eating out, days out and the different routes to the beach, town and supermarket. She also arranged our airport transfer which was a great help (200 euros return for 7 people). On arrival we was met by both Marion and Felipe, who were very welcoming. There had been some problems with another of their properties and therefore Marion had been unable to get the shopping in that we had requested (at her suggestion!), this was a pain as after travelling with young children they were hungry! She was apologetic about this. The Villa itself was spacious enough for us all. Here is a bit of info about each floor. First floor main living area, this is were you enter the property. Kitchen - spacious, well equipped, no large glasses! Open plan lounge - comfy settees, RUBBISH wifi, balcony (we used this a lot!) good sized table, air con. Downstairs one flight: 3 good sized bedrooms, only the main bedroom has air con. Lots of electric fans for the other rooms which we needed to use as it was very hot! Family bathroom - needs an update it looked a bit grubby in places, very stuffy in here, electrics to shaving light were dodgy, held with a peg! Large terrace - The only access to the terrace is through the bedrooms. There are sunbeds and a large table out here. The small pool was used by us a lot however I would point out that it is VERY deep. We are a very tall family and none of us could touch the bottom, approx 6ft 3ins deep. A problem when our boys who are learning to swim were grabbing us to keep themselves up and we were going under! Downstairs again ground floor: Double bedroom - this is an internal bedroom and therefore no windows = very hot! We used this room and my mother said it was also very noisy (cars and grates!) as it is on the road level. Bathroom - better than upstairs. Twin bedroom - not a nice room wouldn't have wanted my children to sleep in here and again no windows. We didn't use it as we had enough rooms upstairs thankfully. Garage - very large. We found a buggy in here which we used for our 4 year old. As the villa is on 3 floors there are a lot of stairs. 2 of the grandparents found this a bit hard going. In terms of children though there are stair gates at the top of both sets of stairs. Our overall feeling of the villa was it needed a little TLC but this didn't stop us having a fab holiday! Location - An easy walk downhill to the beach (5 minutes) However it is VERY steep so the walk back is more difficult. There is a bus every hour and taxis but be aware they wont take you if you are wet from the beach. A 20 minute walk to town on the roads or shorter along the beach but you will have a lot of steps to climb up into town. One more thing to note, as I wasn't aware of this. You have to pay for the electricity. Ours came to 50 euros. We didn't have the air con on every day but used the fans a lot. I think this is a bit steep on top of the rental cost. In summary we had a brilliant week here.

Owner's reply: Thank you for detailed feedback most of which we have noted. However with reference to the reserve room i.e.the lower level twin bedded room this is not usually used and is not advertised for being used. We are going to make this a store and not available to guests. However other guests particularly grandparents have requested that it has been open for use for afternoon siestas. We have investigated the noise level at the ground level and have noted that there is a loose water hub near to the villa so we will report this and arrange to have this levelled. There is nothing we can do about the traffic passing by in the road though. We will ask our handyman to attend to the shaving point in the bathroom. Regarding the electricity usage we do not make a profit out of this and really it is a deterrent as if not can you imagine that guests in previous years have left the airconditioning on 24 hours a day leaving us as the owners a tremendously heavy bills. In future we will say that this is a deterrent measure. Thank you for your feedback and we will action the above accordingly. best wishes - the owners
