The longe/dining room is finished in a rustic style with open fire and exposed beams and a high sloping ceiling supported by Moorish arches. For the winter months we have recently installed a wood pellet burner to take the chill off the winter evenings. There are two settees together with dining table and seating for 4 which opens out onto the terrace through double french doors.

For cooling in the summer we have fans, but we also have air conditioning which also provides heating for the winter, together with the wood burner.

There is a lot to do in Nerja, but should you need it we have a flat screen TV with a satellite receiver with extensive coverage which has all the main UK channels, there is also a DVD player and stereo CD player, with MP3 and radio.

The recently refurbished terrace is equipped with loungers, table and chairs and a built in barbecue .There is a large wind out awning and sombrero which provides shelter from the sun.

The terrace is not overlooked and has panoramic views across the well tended landscaped gardens and palm trees of the estate to an ancient arched aqueduct with the sea beyond (not overlooking hundreds of rooftops!).

Location description from owner

The Costa del Sol region

Nerja is a delightful and unspoiled seaside town some 35 miles east of Malaga, often described as the Costa del Sol's best kept secret . This part of the sunshine coast of Spain enjoys a sub tropical climate which in winter is the warmest part of Europe, being certainly warmer than any other part of Spain. The winter sunshine ripens tomatoes, grapes, sugar cane, custard apples, avacado pears and in February the almond trees blossom. You may become enchanted by Nerja, we certainly were, the town hugs the rugged Mediterranean coast where the cliffs reach down to the sea, guarding picturesque coves many with their own beach restaurants serving locally caught fish.
Oasis de Capistrano is located between the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and Burriana beach - one of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol.
The villa provides superb views of the gardens and from the gardens you can see a back drop of the mountains.

Nerja

Nerja is located between the Almijara mountains and the sea , and is relatively unspoilt , fishermen still launch their boats from the small local beaches and the town is virtually unchanged by tourism , with narrow winding passages and whitewashed houses. There are many restaurants offering a wide variety in cuisine.
Nerja is a favourite for walkers, particularly for the coastal walks or in the Almijara mountains immediately behind the town.
Oasis de Capistrano is situated in a beautiful private estate , and has won many awards for its design of whitewashed properties connected by meandering paths. The fully established gardens are tended by a team of gardeners and looked after by security night and day. They present pleasant and peaceful surroundings with fish ponds and a shaded stream.
There are three swimming pools each with toilets and loungers. One of the pools is for children. There is a life guard present during the busy season. The main pool, children's pool and boule courts are less than 100m walk through the ever flowering gardens.
Two restaurants are within the gardens, one of which has a varied European menu serving good food throughout the day and evening.
Burriana beach, a safe family beach, is a 10 minute walk away through fields with avocado orchards and down the cliff path leading directly onto the beach, or about a 4 minute car drive away.
Oasis is served by local buses with buses to and from Malaga and Almunecar. there is a local bus into Nerja.

Nerja caves, a spectacular series of underground caverns is less than 2 miles away and a short drive into the mountains is the white washed village of Frigiliana, completely Moorish in its character and considered one of the prettiest villages in Andalucia.
Granada and Alhambra ,one of the famed seven wonders of the world together with the Sierra Nevada mountains are 90 mins drive away. Seville , Cordoba and Gibraltar are within a days drive, as are the white washed mountain villages of the Alpujarras.

“very relaxing Easter holidays with two young children”

Reviewed 24 May 2014

We had a very relaxing holiday with our 2 children aged 3 and 6. They loved the pools (a bit chilly for us in April, but the kids didn't mind), the fish ponds and the walk to the beach. The apartment is very well equipped and has a nice terrace. The Oasis was very quiet when we were there during Easter period. Actually there is nothing negative I can mention.

“New Discoveries”

Reviewed 11 May 2013

The urbanization of Oasis de Capistrano is a beautiful, tranquil, quiet retreat. No. 19 is very well situated, the balcony is a good size and not overlooked. The villa is well appointed with comfortable beds, good sized rooms, spot-less clean and very well equipped. The path to the beach is a bit of hike, not suitable for the infirm or buggies but well worth the effort just to see the flowers and wild-life, there is a 'hidden' path where the very deep steps are. Nerja is a really lovely town, the beaches good and the food that we had there and in the town delicious. Andalusia is a revelation, stunning scenery, easy driving and so many interesting places to visit. The Cueva de Nerja are spectacular and very well worth a visit. [though the exhibition at the Museum in the town is very disappointing, a few replicas without proper labeling - dates etc.]. All in all an excellent holiday, thank you John and Karen.

“A really great family holiday”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2012

This is a great house in a well-designed development that has lovely gardens and a good pool area plus bar/restaurant with very friendly staff. Our two teenaged boys loved it and rated the shower top notch - my husband and I agreed with them. The flat screen TV is excellent and we were able to watch the BBC1 Olympic highlights. It has an absolutely private balcony overlooked only by any passing bird. So if you want the opportunity to expose some parts that don't normally see much sun, this place will be for you. However, we tended to use it to sit outside into the wee small hours drinking sangria and playing cards with not an electronic gizmo in sight - bliss! We used the BBQ twice - recommended - as well as visiting various local restaurants, all of which were good. Like all rental properties there is a rather sparse collection of cooking pots and implements, but as we have rented many times before I'd taken a couple of sharp knives so was not too bothered. The quantity of chopping boards, crockery and glasses was impressive (not to mention corkscrews, as noted by other reviews) and having a dishwasher was a huge bonus. We also made good use of the washing machine. I did find the walk to the beach a bit difficult and returned via the road but that was also a struggle, as it's very hilly, so I'd recommend driving to the beach, which is what we did after that. There are some good restaurants there for lunch or evening meals. Nerja itself is a charming place, with narrow streets and plenty of shops (teenage boys enjoy shopping too). Visit the Balcon de Europa then have a fab ice cream to cool down - there are loads of places to do so. The Alhambra is a must-see trip and easy to get to from the house. One tip if you go: don't bother to save money on tickets for kids under 15 - spend the additional 5 euros and just get adult tickets. This is because they are printed without a bar code so you still have to queue up in the hot sun to exchange them for a bar-coded ticket upon production of ID. If you have bar codes you can walk straight in without queueing. The Alhambra was still amazing even though I'd been before. In summary this is a wonderful place for a family holiday and heartily recommended. Our family's verdict is that it was the best rental home we have stayed in.

“Excellent peaceful break in a fantastic Spanish villa on a well kept complex”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2012

We have been to Nerja three times on holiday, Villa 19 and Oasis de Capistrano with its lush tropical surroundings is by far the best place we have stayed at in Spain. The balcony is ideal sun all day and a wonderful view over palm trees to the sea. The accommodation itself is comfortable and characterful and has everything one needs to enjoy a luxury break on the sunshine coast of Spain...

“Beautiful and quiet winter break.”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2012

We have enjoyed extended winter breaks in Nerja for a number of years and booked this villa because it is well situated on the beautiful Oasis urbanisation. We stayed for 5 weeks over new year and for the whole of January and were blessed with the best weather we have ever experienced at this time of year. This enabled us to get the best out of this excellent property which has a large, very private south facing balcony. Internally we found it to be very well equipped, especially in the large kitchen with dishwasher and all the utensils you could possibly need. The towels and bedding were immaculate and with plenty of spares always available. We had one small problem with plumbing in the en suite when we arrived. This was sorted immediately by the owners - typical of the excellent service we got from them before, during and after the holiday. We hope to return in the future.

“We love it here !!!”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2012

This is a lovely Villa, nice and spacious which we appreciated as we had booked a 4 week stay. it was well equipped and comfortable, with everything that we needed during our stay and we found it very clean on our arrival. Oasis is a fabulous place to stay, set in exotic tropical gardens,we found it a very relaxing environment and in December, quiet and best of all sunshine every day !! We have stayed in another 2 properties on this complex but like this one the best, we are planning our next trip and are looking to book this Villa again.

“Great villa in nice location”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2011

Spent a week here in august and had a great time. The villa is spacious so you never felt cramped and has everything you need for a long stay. Large lounge with dining area and full kitchen which leads out to a large terrace which is private and has great views over the complex. The villa is on the end of a block which means complete privacy and nobody else is overlooking you. The complex itself is quiet and relaxed and well maintained and considering it was august we never struggled to find a spot next to the pool to sunbathe. Looked around several other villas on the complex whilst we were there but felt we had chosen well with casablanca 19 - highly reccomended
