Wonderful Location! Two minutes walk to beach (turning right outside the front gate) and two minutes walk to the restaurants, bars and Balcon De Europe (turning left outside the front gate).

The property consists of front patio, with garden furniture and shrubs, through lounge/dining room, fully fitted kitchen, rear patio area with splash shower and downstairs cloakroom with fully fitted washing machine/dryer and w.c. Main bedroom with ''Double King' bed and balcony (with table and chairs to enjoy the view of the sea) second bedroom with twin single beds. Fully fitted bathroom with shower over bath. Roof terrace with sea views of the Mediterranean. All the outside areas have table and chairs for guests to be able to make full use of sitting outside in the sunshine! The sun covers all the outside areas throughout the day, so if you want that tan, there is no where that does not get the sunshine, just swap the patios! There is a fold down table outside on the

The kitchen is full equipped with large fridge / freezer, Halogen hob cooker, separate electric grill in cupboard is available for stir-fries etc (can be used outside instead of using cooker)
There is a small garden at the front of the house equipped with table and chairs, and the same with the back patio and balcony leading off the main bedroom.
The upstairs and downstairs bathroom both have large mirror with safety plugs by the side to plug in razor or hairdryer.
Car parking space is available directly outside the house, but is public parking, so "first there, first served"!
There are fans in both bedrooms, and 2 large Calor gas heaters in the lounge.

Further details outdoors

The house provides loads of outdoor areas, front, back, bedroom terrace, roof terrace, all with furniture to enable visitors to sit and relax, enjoy the views. The sun is on one of these patios at different times of the day, so you can sit in the shade, or full sun, depending on what you want! The security is excellent, with the front gate also able to be locked. There is also a safe in the main bedroom if needed.
The rubbish can be taken down to the skip each day, this is left turning outside front gate, and at the bottom of the road, on the opposide side (next to entrance to Torrrecilla restaurant and beach)there are rubbish bins for the public.
The market day is every Tuesday, and is a half hours walk, stop for a coffee on the way!
We prefer this house to be rented out to couples, and consider it unsuitable for children, due to steep stairs upto the roof garden.

The Costa del Sol region

Have a Car Free holiday! The Torrecilla Beach is 2 minutes walk from the house, turning left outside the gate, and the shops, restaurants 2 minutes walk turning right outside the gate. Tennis courts, local gym, all within easy walking distance. Local outdoor market every Tuesday.
Feb and March great for ski-ing - Sierra Nevada - 1 hrs drive away (just before Granada)
if you want to travel further, there is a local bus stop at the bottom of road
The Balcon de Europe is 5 minutes walk from the house, sit and eat tapas, drinking wine, watching the entertainers on the Balcony.

Nerja

The Nerja caves are one of the biggest attractions in Spain, they are on the out-skirts of Nerja near the village of Maro and are served by a regular bus. Nerja's charm comes from its narrow winding streets, many restaurants, superb shops, tapas on the Balcon de Europa, watching the world go by.Burriana beach, near by, hosts an enormous paella over an open fire, or the Torrecilla beach is across the road from the house.

Ski Resort one and half hours drive away at the Sierra Nevada!
Donkey Sanctuary 20 minute walk, with plenty of cafes and bars on the way!

“Disappointing”

Our holiday did not get off to a good start, as we did not know which house it was. The advertisement said it was called Bilbao, but gave no road name. However, the house name was nowhere on the house. This made it extremely difficult to find. The only reason we finally found the house was because luckily I had taken the details with me which shows a picture of the house, and we recognised the patio furniture. Also, it had not been cleaned, due to the owner giving the incorrect date to the cleaner by two days. We realised this when the cleaner turned up and left a note two days later. However, she did not offer to do a clean for us (only asked us to inform her if we did not have enough towels). The advertisement states that the property is suitable for people with restricted mobility - this is not the case, as there is no downstairs bedroom, and the steps up to the roof terrace are a struggle even for relatively fit people. During our stay, we had a problem that needed to be urgently sorted out, so we rang the owner several times and left several messages - however, to this day, we have not heard from her. It would have been nice if she had offered to refund some money due to the fact that the property was not cleaned. Even an apology would have been a start!

What a shame that the holiday you received did not make up for the oversight by the cleaner,(which is the only time this has happened)As soon as I was aware of the problem, there were many phone calls to ensure it was quickly rectified. No one else appears to have had any problem finding the house, which is directly opposite the Torrecilla beach and one minutes walk from the Hotel Rue Monica. We like everyone to have a wonderful time and look after our special second home. We have had our house for six years, and during that time most people who stay contact me, have a chat and return every year, which I think is a wonderful example of how special a place it is, not only to us but to everyone who comes for a holiday.

Booking this house couldn't have been any easier, after emailing the owner, every thing just fell into place. After the balance was paid we recieved the keys. we also booked taxi tranfers online both inward /outward perfect start/end to our holiday. We stayed for 6wks, sunshine 90% of the time. This house has everything that you need for a holiday, if youve got it at home then this house will have it as well, its so comfortable it doesnt matter if you have a couple of grim days (no sunshine ). Its situated in a perfect position, you can hear the sea from the roof terrace (what a great space that is), the area around the house is so peaceful at night. The Balcon is about a 5min walk, the nearest bar /supermarket 2mins maximum. Ive titled this review home from home, which isn't quite the case, as we live in a bungalow, and this has a staircase up to the bedrooms /bathroom , but this presented no problem at all. You do have to concentrate on the roof terrace steps which for us was a form of keep fit. The bed is very comfy and enormous, i lost the wife for 3 wks its so big. Would i reccomend this house for a vacation? the short answer is yes, the long answer is yes yes yes, the owner (ROS)is so easy to talk to on the phone every thing from start to finish was perfect. BUT and this is a very big but, if this house belonged to me i wouldnt be writing a review about it because i woudn't want any one staying, so, Ros thank you so much for allowing myself/wife to share your lovely home can't wait for next visit. Fabulous town house - the pictures really don't do it justice. Literally a 2 minute walk to the beach and restaurants/shops. Very comfortable - a real home from home but with a lovely Spanish feel.

This was the second time we've stayed here and it was as good as the first. Such a homely feel to the place, with great outdoor space and close to Torrecilla beach. Easy to book, and to get the keys in plenty of time before date of travel. All completely hassle free and great value for money. Thanks Ros !
