“Very comfortable cottage”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2015

Cottage is quite remote but in a lovely rural setting and a car is definitely recommended. It is well equipped and very comfortable. Alison provided a very generous welcome pack, wonderful home baking and was extremely helpful, even giving suggestions on things to do.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us, this is much appreciated. Equally, I am delighted that you found our cottage to be comfortable and well equipped, we aim to create a holiday 'home' that you can really enjoy spending time in. Hopefully we see you back again for a bit longer next time - maybe to try some golfing or fishing locally ! Warm Regards Alison

“Relaxing and homely”

Reviewed 26 May 2014

My wife and I stayed at Primrose as a base to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. We stayed at the sister cottage (Blackberry) last year and loved that so we rebooked. We were so glad we did. The cottage is so clean, modern and we wanted for nothing. Becky and Reuben welcomed us and were at hand for any questions about the surrounding area. They provided a starter pack of food for us which was very welcome. The beds were very comfy - sometimes too comfy as I would struggle to wake up. Each room had access to a shower and/or bath. A great touch. We Also had Wi-Fi free of charge. Peace and quiet is the main ingredient here and it's wonderful. We will be back.

Owner's reply: Great to see you back in Coolbawn again ! Very pleased you found the location handy for the Coolbawn Quay wedding and enjoyed staying in Primrose. Come back and see us anytime. Many thanks for the positive review. Alison

“Lovely home - great value for money for our group!”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

A group of 5 of us stayed at Primrose Cottage for 3 nights as we were attending a wedding at Coolbawn Quay, which is about 1.5 miles away to walk / drive. We chose the cottage given it's closeness and also it offered really good value for money compared to the wedding venue itself (which was really lovely I might add). The cottage is spacious but cosy, with cottage touches like nice wooden latched doors. It is in a pretty setting with lots of privacy, We received a warm welcome from Alison who showed us where everything was and how various things worked - Alison was easily contactable over the weekend and had been happy to answer any questions since I originally booked the cottage. The two en suite rooms and third bathroom came in handy when 5 of us were preparing for the wedding and Alison had even given us a few more towels and a second hair dryer (as the sister cottage was empty for the weekend) which was really useful. Also, the breakfast box provided by Alison was really appreciated - included milk, orange juice, bacon, sausage, eggs, bread etc - and was a really lovely touch. We had bought some food / other supplies at a Tesco on the way there but found we had too much in the end! We were very well fed - probably a good thing on our post wedding hangovers! All in all a lovely stay and as advertised - we really enjoyed our stay as a group as there was enough space to socialise (inside and outside) and some DVDs, board games etc provided for a bit of entertainment.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are delighted you found everything you needed for your stay, we have many wedding groups staying due to our proximity to Coolbawn Quay which is a wonderful venue for weddings. There are many activities to enjoy locally such as golf, fishing and Watersports and many lovely walks so do come back and enjoy more of what the area has to offer. Kind Regards Alison

“Exceptional country cottage”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

The cottage was exceptionally clean. The air is clean, the rental property beautiful, the surrounding villages extremely picturesque, and the lake (about 10-15 minutes drive) is beautiful. This is a great place to relax!! Alison stocked the fridge with supplies (beyond the welcome pack - which is free) on a very reasonable for-purchase basis. This makes for a very easy first night. We rated this place and the service 10 out of 10. I recommend using a GPS to find it especially if you plan to arrive in the night.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your positive review ! We aim to please without being intrusive, and are delighted that you enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the area and felt comfortable in Primrose Cottage. It was lovely and an honour, to receive yet more guests from the USA and we look forward to welcoming you again at any time in the future.

“Perfect Home for our Irish Adventure”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2013

The cottage was perfect for our family of 6. Space size, number of bathrooms, and location was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a center location to use as a base and take day trips from - this met our needs exactly. We wanted a quiet location so that we could walk, run, and take hikes - this location was very rural and peaceful on a one lane country road with views of the Lough Dreg and pastures in the hills. Wireless Internet worked great! Pubs in the small villages were everywhere! I am glad we only spent one day in Dublin and spent the rest here. Our host and her family were excellent. Any question we had with the cottage, resturants, and the area were answered quickly.. We had a welcome package waiting for us at the cottage so there wasn't a need to run over to the grocery immediately after our long flight - this was a welcome relief. Our host also arranged for a local canoe trip for our two younger family members in the Lough Derg that went to a Castle Ruin - it was the highlight of their trip. We will recommend to our friends.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the lovely review from our first guests in Primrose Cottage ! It was exciting for us to have visitors from USA and we are delighted that you found the cottage well positioned for exploring and comfortable to return to at the end of the day. We would love to welcome you back anytime !
