The Location:

The Point (formerly Point Village resort) is at the north end of Negril’s seven mile beach across from Booby Cay Island, between Hedonism and the new Royalton resort, just over from Sandals. It’s around 75 minutes of scenic driving on a good two-lane highway from Montego Bay airport, or two minutes from Negril Aerodrome after a cool 15-minute small plane flight.

The Point: Outside -

Private residences in a light-density condominium community. 14 acres of tropical beauty. It offers two private uncrowded white sand beaches (one is clothing optional) with extra- large swim areas, a newly-renovated swimming pool, unique sea-fed rock pools area, covered patios, and Pirate’s Cove, which is excellent for snorkelling. There’s a tennis court, a beach volleyball net, and a walking/ jogging path around the property’s perimeter. For the beach strollers, The Point is at the beginning of Negril’s famously long beautiful beach.

The Point features a long, diverse sea shore with beaches, carved rock shores and stunning views on three sides of the point.

The Point is a gated community with full 24/7 security. It’s private property, so no vendors or local entrepreneurs - just guests and owners. This is a very safe place!

Facing west over the calm turquoise sea, sunsets are truly breathtaking every day!

The Point - Townhouse 210: Inside -

This is a 2-storey, 2-bedroom, 2-balcony townhouse with stunning sea views. Wifi internet and a 32” smart flat screen TV (Netflix ready, your account, first month is free and you can cancel any time) included. We had cable but it stopped working and was very grainy at best. One of the bedrooms is larger, but both very comfortable with new queen beds, a closet and dresser. The second floor bathroom is complete with tub/shower/toilet/sink and blow dryer. There is a powder room with toilet and sink on the main floor. The kitchen is complete with all you need to cook and serve. Fridge, stove, oven, blender, coffee maker, toaster, and all the pots and pans and plates, glasses, utensils, and other useful kitchen stuff.

Bath/kitchen towels, and linens included. Please bring your own beach towels.

There are 5 ceiling fans, and if required, there is AC in the bedrooms.

Free parking is available in front of the townhouse.

What’s nearby? -

This is a beach stroller’s paradise with miles of sandy shores.

Close by, there is a well stocked convenience store, lunch time take-out cooked food stalls, a fruit stand, craft market, and ATMs from two banks.

There are affordable-ish day passes from nearby resorts like Hedonism and Sandals. See the front desk.

There are a couple of restaurants nearby. By car, taxi or red plate from the main road, there are 174 TripAdvisor-rated restaurants on the beach and the cliffs area, referred to as the West End. Tons of cool little bars. Live music. Many nicer restaurants offer complimentary pickup. The town offers full-sized grocery stores, pharmacy, fruit stands, and other services.

There’s lots to explore nearby or further. Island tours, local and airport transportation available on referral.

Getting the key:

Our airport transportation driver, Tony, will provide the unit’s key. He is available for $10000 Jamaican dollars (approx. $80 US) each way from Montego Bay airport pickup with a stop at a Montego Bay grocery store and then return to Montego Bay airport. Pickup and return to Negril Aerodrome is $2000 (approx. $15 US) each way with a stop at the Negril grocery store upon arrival.

Conditions:

There is a $50US cleaning fee per stay.

Maximum 4 guests.
