Architect's Dream House in Nardo/Puglia
Il Cubo is located within the old city walls of Nardo in Puglia. It's a unique place where the old world meets new - a stylish single home in a peaceful courtyard. Created by architect Martin Stubenrauch, it is a perfect spot for people who want to be surrounded by an impeccably designed space with both charm and sophistication - and all the comfort you need.

full bathroom with shower & bidet
panoramic roof terrace
The old world meets new in Il Cubo - a stylish dwelling in the midst of a protected courtyard. It is a perfect spot for people who want to be surrounded by an ingeniously designed space with both charm and sophistication – and all the comfort you need. A contemporary aesthetic mixed with the warmth and mystery of the old world, Il Cubo will especially appeal to those who are attracted to the elegantly eccentric.
The architect used his love of clean lines and open spaces in partnership with his sensibility for the Pugliese tradition that carries with it the wonderful stone and iron work of fine craftsmen – the entire place becomes a celebration of beauty, centered around the exquisite domes ceiling from….
Despite it's seemingly urban position, Il Cubo is perfectly centrally located in Puglia One of Italy's most beautiful shorelines, Porta Selvaggio is only 6 km. away.
Seeing is believing! Once you step foot inside Il Cubo, that has some of the classical qualities of an antique dome combined with the hipness of a Soho loft, you'll immediately feel at home with the beautiful travertine floors, custom made doors and windows, and above all, the fine sense for design. A contemporary aesthetic mixed with all the traditions of the old world. (Of course it is also well heated and air conditioned when needed.)
The kitchen is fully equipped with travertine counters, dishwasher, stove, oven, refrigerator, and complete cooking utensils - all it takes to prepare and enjoy delicious Italian meals at home. There is a bar adjacent to the kitchen for those who prefer to watch the food preparation.
Perched elegantly above the living dining area, you will wake up looking at the same gorgeous dome that you feel asleep to. The open sleeping loft has a generous feeling and a very comfortable double bed.It is quiet and peaceful.
This bathroom is like a “Smart Car”: well designed, elegant and highly functional – you'll be amazed how it all fits. ( for your convenience, the bathroom is on the same level as the sleeping loft)

"We would go back in a minute"
The apartment is well located in a quarter where "real" people live with access to a street with a specialty cheese shop, an excellent bakery, and a fruttivendolo where everything for a picnic can be purchased. The apartment itself was created with an architect's eye for design with a romantic, floating bedroom under the historic arches. The kitchen is well equipped and cozy. And the owners, Karen and Martin, were very accommodating offering restaurant and winery suggestions. Following their advice, we found some excellent, affordable Puglia wines. The area beckons, and we hope to be able to return to this special spot in Nardo'.
We appreciate you taking the time to review our property, it means a lot to us that you did so and even more that you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you very much. We hope to see you in the not too distant future. Sincerely, Karen Bamonte
