The Languedoc-Roussillon region
The villa is located in Narbonne-Plage, literally a few steps to the beach. Narbonne-Plage is in the Aude region, an hour from the Spanish borders.Nearest airport: Perpignan about 50 km away
The child friendly beach in front of the house has lifeguards on duty (seasonally), with a gently sloping, rock-free bottom-contour with no sudden drop-offs providing a safe and enjoyable experience for your family. Activities are available for all interests: sailing, fishing, sail boarding, amusement parks, biking, safari park, Roman ruins, vineyard tours, golfing, artist studios, and many, many more.Narbonne is less than a one hour drive from the Spanish border. It is an interesting well maintained city with a long history. The Canal de Robine - which joins the Canal du Midi - runs through the centre of the city, offering picturesque towpath walks and boat excursions. The centre of Narbonne contains boulevards, narrow streets, squares and ancient buildings. Among these are traditional markets, cafes, restaurants, boutiques, bakers and confectioners. On the outskirts of Narbonne there are hypermarkets, sports facilities and of course vineyards. The old town has been tastefully enhanced with gushing fountains, pedestrianised streets and provides a wonderful Southern French atmosphere with a Spanish twist.Every morning it's fabulous food market in 'Les Halles' sells fresh locally grown vegetables, meats, charcuterie, fish, cheeses, pastries and much more including a few locally produced wines. The Walled City of Carcassonne is known first and foremost as a fortified medieval town. Through it's maze of narrow cobbled streets lie an abundance of small shops selling a variety of hand made jewellery, leather goods and artwork.
