The Pembrokeshire region
Situated furthest west in Wales, the county of Pembrokeshire is an excellent choice for relaxing and adventure holidays alike. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park takes in about a third of the county including the entire coastal strip, the upper reaches of the Daugleddau (two swords) and the Preseli Mountains. It's the only National Park that is almost entirely coastal.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path displays a variety of landscapes as you make your way along it, ranging from steep limestone cliffs, undulating red sandstone bays, volcanic headlands and flooded glacial valleys. There are also some remarkably quaint towns and villages to explore, rest, refresh and recuperate; essential for getting your breath back after experiencing some of those views! And don't be put off by the length of The Coast Path. The year round Coastal Bus Services are specially designed for walkers.
Cyclists are also well catered for in Pembrokeshire with many great rides including mountain biking in the breathtaking Preseli Mountains.
The numerous award winning beaches such as Barafundle Bay are also ideal for less energetic holidays.
There are lots of attractions that are suitable for children of all ages and these are all within easy reach of the barn, some within just 10 miles of the barn e.g. Bluestone Water Park and Oakwood Theme Park.
Llandissilio is centrally located in Pembrokeshire making it an ideal base to explore the county. It's approximately 5 miles from Narberth (http://www.narberthchamber.com), a bustling town with many shops, restaurants and bars. Llandissilio also has a couple of public houses, Post office and General Store. There is also a General Store in Clynderwen.

"Found our perfect 5* holiday accommodation"
Having recently returned from holiday at The Barn we can only reiterate the comments that other visitors have made. The accommodation was definitely 5* we could not fault it at all. Everything was of a very high standard, even down to the welcome pack. The lovely owners Sue and Steve were very helpful without being obtrusive, we were left to get on with our holiday but they were there when we needed advice about the local area. We can honestly say this is the best self catering holiday accommodation we have booked. The weather was an added bonus as we arrived at the start of the heatwave so spent all of the time on one of the beautiful beaches this area has to offer. The facilities on the beach were ideal, sunbeds, lovely restaurant and miles of golden sand to walk our Westie, Angus. We will definitely be returning to The Barn as there are lots of places we want to visit, even if the weather is not too good we know we will be coming back to fabulous accommodation.

"A top notch property in a lovely rural setting"
This was excellent accommodation in every respect in a lovely peaceful setting. The barn has been beautifully converted and throughout has been fitted out to a very high standard. Sue, the owner, who lives in the adjoining property, could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful, even providing us on arrival with a generous starter pack. The property is also ideally located for quick and easy access to all the attractions of Pembrokeshire. In short we had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay and would recommend this property without reservation.

"Wow! (that's all that needs to be said!)"
We stayed here from 27th Apr - 4th May (me, my wife and daughter!) and really we're lost for words. Set back in stunning surroundings, the long drive passing the field of sheep and then turning infront of the barn you will be smiling instantly to start your holiday! The barn is joined to Sue and Steve's own house (the west wing of the barn!) and the whole place is beautiful! Sue greeted us as we pulled up and I can honestly say she's as friendly and welcoming as the property itself. We felt at home instantly! Inside the barn is much bigger than we'd imagined looking at the pictures with the bedrooms off the front room with a corridor leading to the large master bedroom and ensuite. Everything in the barn is done to the highest standard from fittings, underfloor heating, neff appliances (which my wife is now ordering for our new kitchen! gulp!) and then the large outside garden which is exclusive to steve and sue's garden next door. I'm reluctantly writing this review as I'd love this to be our own little secret but it's only right that Sue and Steve's efforts are rightly rewarded. Will we be back?! Absolutely! This was exactly the holiday we needed and already I can't wait to be back there. Our daughter (16-months) smiled the entire week running around inside and out. Great memories, stunning barn, great hosts and pembrokeshire is the perfect setting to top it all off.

"An amazing 5 star experience with more than a touch of class."
We were extremely impressed with all aspect of the 'barn' and if anything the photos don't do it justice. The welcoming was both personal and classy including a nice bottle of Rioja, fresh welsh cakes, an organic loaf and the log burner up and running crackling away in the background. The whole place is done out to an extremely high standard from the NEF kitchen appliances to the Panasonic Freeview HD TV and the Laura Ashley towels. It doesn't feel like a rental property...more like the guest house at your rich designer sisters place! We would love to tell you more about the surrounding area but the barn was so nice we spent most of our time cosying up in front of the log burner and eating in. However, the barn did appear to be well placed, seemingly equidistant from most of the attractions and tourist towns. We did venture to Narberth and found the local butchers and Deli come grocers to be of a very high standard so don't worry about packing supplies or visiting Tesco's! Overall I cannot recommend the Barn enough. It represents incredible value for money for such a sumptuous experience. We will certainly be returning but will try and see a great deal more of the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline next time.

"A fantastic holiday in a beautifully located and well equipped barn. The perfect place to relax with a cosy log burner."
We spent a brilliant few days relaxing at the Barn at Swallowfield. It is beautifully decorated, very well equipped and clean. The beds were amazingly comfortable and a brilliant collection of DVDs and games kept us well entertained. It was lovely and warm and the log burner was such a treat to come home to. The Barn at Swallowfield is located in such a beautiful and peaceful setting and perfect for exploring Pembroke. We had some lovely days visiting Tenby, Pembroke Castle (well worth a look) and St Davids where there was plenty to do even when the weather was cold and wet. It was very easy to get to the Barn thanks to the great directions and the owners were so friendly and helpful that we felt really welcome and 'at home' straight away. We absolutely loved everything about our stay and we hope to return to explore Pembroke more.

"We had a fabulous time in this cosy, luxurious, fantastically situated barn."
We spent a romantic snowy long weekend in this beautiful property. We had no problem finding the property and received a warm welcome from the owners who were very helpful and for whom nothing was too much trouble. The Barn is in a beautiful position with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. It was peaceful and quiet. Despite the cold weather we were kept warm with a wonderful log burning stove and cosy underfloor heating. The kitchen was well equiped and the milk and welsh cakes were much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite fresh and clean. There was a vast range of music and DVD's to choose from and games were also available. The Barn is perfectly situated to explore the local area with fantastic local walks from the fron door and beaches only about half an hour drive away either north or south. Narberth is the nearest small town and has lovely local shops to buy fresh produce in. There is a small post office and shop just over a miles walk from the cottage which we walked to get a paper and bread. There was nothing we disliked about this property and we will be returning in the spring for another visit.
