Coast Retreat is truly one of a kind. The only house set on Coast Road, it offers uninhibited, grandstand views across Muriwai Golf Course to the sea. Experience the warmth of all day, year round sun in a ruggedly beautiful west coast setting, just 30 minutes from Auckland CBD.

Coast Retreat is perfect for golfers, honeymooners, surfers, or busy Aucklander's in need of a no fuss, rejuvenating hiatus from the city. All towels, linen and a cleaning service are provided as well as tea and coffee.

Muriwai is Auckland's West Coast playground, with cafe's, nearby vineyards and restaurants, a renowned New Zealand Golf Course, the popular Maori Bay and Muriwai Beach, Woodhill Mountain Bike Park tracks, public tennis courts and a skate park, and plenty of beach activities - paragliding, surfing, BMX, fishing, land sailing and much more.

We guarantee you'll feel a million miles from the city whether you choose to venture outdoors or relax on the deck with a book!

In the evening, soak in the outdoor heated bath under the stars in your private courtyard, enjoy a DVD or visit one of the many great restaurants and vineyards in nearby Waimauku and Kumeu.

Coast Retreat offers all the comforts of home in a cosy, coastal, clean, fully furnished, sunny studio accommodation, plus one separate downstairs bedroom. The kitchen has a fridge and microwave, 2 hotplates and all the necessary utensils. We offer free wifi & a desk to work/study.

It's perfect for a couples retreat but can also be made suitable for two couples or can accommodate small children on request. We have a spare mattress and a cot available.

Please note that Coast Retreat has two double beds, one in the upstairs studio and one in a private room downstairs. There is one bathroom, which is accessed next to the upstairs bed.

A car is required to get to muriwai, but once you’re here you can stroll to the beaches, the forest, the gannets, and the cafe or shop. Carparking is always free at Coast Retreat

We live next door (but work during the day) so we are generally available to help with any queries and recommendations regarding things to see and do in the area. House rules

Smoking is allowed on the balcony with the doors closed.

Small, non-shedding pets are ok, so please enquire about your pet. Please bring bedding for them as we do not allow pets on the furniture or beds.

The maximum number of occupants is 2-4 as determined at the time of booking. Up to two extra daytime visitors are welcome, and may stay until 11pm. Unplanned guests that stay the night will be charged $25 per head.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Hannah (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
