L'OLIVIER is a recently restored wonderfully spacious and independent holiday villa with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on two floors (200 sq. metres). There are both a fireplace and a wood-burning stove as well as central heating, only needed for the winter months. L’Olivier comfortably accommodates 8 people.

Ground Floor

• Living/dining room (50 sq. metres) features a big fireplace as well as a wood-burning stove. Satellite TV, DVD player and a radio-CD player are provided. The walls were restored in the original way (‘pierres apparantes’). A door connects to the courtyard located at the south side, with outdoor furniture and a barbecue.

• Glazed veranda, which can be used as a playroom for children.

• Independent large kitchen (16 sq. metres) fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, hob, oven and a fridge/freezer. The kitchen door leads to the courtyard.

• Bedroom with queen-size bed (160x200) and antique wardrobe.

• Modern bathroom with Italian shower and toilet.

• Traditional floor tiles as well as palomino squares, small washbasin made from regional marble.

• Utility room with washing machine.

• Separate toilet in the hall.

First floor spacious landing with walls restored in the original way (‘pierres apparantes’). Traditional floor tiles throughout make for a very nice atmosphere.

• Master bedroom (18 sq. metres) with king-size bed (180×200) and antique wardrobe.

• Second bedroom (16 sq. metres) with two beds and antique wardrobe.

• Third bedroom (20 sq. metres) with two beds and antique wardrobe.

• Small room for ironing and storage of luggage.

• Luxurious modern bathroom with shower, bathtub, heated towel rack, double washbasin and toilet – and a view of the woods.

• L'Olivier is part of Domaine Le Trabet, a former winery dating back to the 18th century. Come and stay with us to enjoy the Mediterranean, the Pyrénées and the wonderful Languedoc-Roussillon region with all of its activities, arts, culture, wines and restaurants.

Getting around

Arrive by car, then relax and walk, hike or bike - there are many tiny paths and small country roads to explore. The Montagne Noire is ideal for a more ambitious ride, or you can go along the canal at a more leisurely pace: a convenient picnic basket is attached to one of the bikes.

“Friendly welcoming owners, well-equipped property”

We felt very welcome at Le Trabet and the owners and property maintenance staff were consistently friendly, polite and helpful. The accommodation is as described and well equipped - everything worked and when small issues arose during our stay they were dealt with promptly. It is perfect place for a relaxing family stay. The peaceful pool is a highlight with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of sunshades. Inside the property, the thick stone walls keep things pleasantly cool (not having air con was a worry before we arrived but it really wasn't an issue except on one particularly hot sticky night) and the furniture is comfortable and practical. Thank you very much!

“Perfect french estate with lovely owners”

The property and the owners were delightful! The owners were very helpful and supportive when planning our week in France. They recommended great antique stores, restaurants and winerys. Especially the dinner which was organized on the estate was exceptional! Lovely, clean and spacious rooms which are all individually and very lovingly decorated. Waking up in the morning with a great view of the estate, made for a perfect start to every day. There is a nice pool area and yard to relax in after some sightseeing in Carcassone, winetasting or antique shopping in the area. After our week there, we were sad to leave and we will definately be back!

Loved our gite at Le Trabet. The hosts were lovely and inviting, the property was charming (a small fruit orchard, a big yard, and a beautiful swimming pool) and the nearby towns were great to explore. Carcassonne is a great place to check out with quite a few options for food and sightseeing (I traveled with my husband and two year old daughter). Nearby Le Trabet is L'Ambrosia, a Michelin-rated restaurant with great prices—definitely worth a visit!

Le Trabet is beautiful, everything is very well maintained and clean. The pool is a great size and the gardens are beautiful. Also the Lohner family that owns it are great. We had delicious breakfast with them and dinners! We had the best of time! I recommend it to everyone I know!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Claudia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
