Description

Two-story 2,300-sq-ft farmhouse, 7 miles from the famous courtsquare in Mountain View, in a secluded setting on a working cattle farm. This property offers a unique opportunity for family groups, sportsmen, or nature lovers.

THE HOUSE:

House includes three bedrooms for guests, with four full/queen beds, two standard twins, and two smaller beds most suitable for children.

The downstairs bathroom features an antique claw-foot tub with handheld shower, while the upstairs bath has a conventional shower/tub combo. Kitchen table seats 8, and there is a laundry room with full-size front loading washer and dryer.

WiFi is available, and there are TVs with Roku streaming boxes in the living room, den and bunk room (Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu). The living room also has Dish Network and an X-Box One with two controllers. There is a small DVD library; a large collection of books including many children’s books and activities; and lots of family games and activities.

The house features a large wraparound porch with ample seating, a gas grill, and picnic tables on the porch and in the yard.

Other features include a wood fireplace in the living room, piano, children’s play set in the yard, climbing rope swing by the creek, and accommodations for pets.

THE PROPERTY:

Included in your reservation is access to approximately 200 acres of private land right outside your door, including fields, woods, and creeks. You have private access to Tomahawk Creek, including the “high bank hole” – a beautiful secluded spot about 1/4 mile from the house, where you are welcome to fish and explore the creek banks.

Access to the creek is occasionally limited to 4-wheel-drive in wet weather, but a 4x4 RTV may be made available for use on the farm for an additional daily fee. There is also a cattle pond about 300 yards from the house.

This property is about a 15-20 minute drive from the town of Mountain View, and the route includes 2.5 miles of dirt road. Cellular service varies but can generally be accessed about a half mile up the road, if not at the house. We provide WiFi, along with a telephone for local calls.

PETS:

Outside dogs and well-behaved inside pets are welcome, with prior approval. The fenced yard includes approximately 1/3 acre fenced for dogs. Please discuss your pet needs with us prior to booking.

HUNTING:

We also offer special hunting packages during deer and turkey season. Guided hunting is available for a daily per-person fee that includes lodging in the house and exclusive access for your group to more than 500 acres of prime hunting ground. Tree stands and ground-level blinds are provided, along with the assistance of experienced local hunters. This service includes a tour of the best hunting spots, help with collecting and processing kills, and advice and assistance as needed.
