Superb accommodation with wonderful views within walking distance of the village

VILLA OLEANDER is a luxury villa with 3 bedrooms (all with en suite bathrooms) in Mougins, sleeping 6-7.

Set within a mature, south-facing Mediterranean garden with breath-taking views over the Old Village (15 mins walk) and the Bay of Cannes. Just 20 minutes from Nice Airport and 6km from Cannes.

The villa has been recently renovated to a superb standard with luxury bathrooms and a designer kitchen.

It is air-conditioned throughout.

The accommodation is arranged over two levels. At ground level we have an open plan kitchen, living room and dining room, and also the first master bedroom from which French doors open out to a large terrace linking to the living areas. Upstairs there is a second master bedroom with two private balconies, and also a third double bedroom.

There is a separate laundry room and also a well equipped games room.

The terraced gardens are beautifully secluded and landscaped including a private heated swimming pool, pool house and full sized boules court.

The views from the house and gardens to the Old Village with the Mediterranean Sea and the Esterel Mountains in the background are truly stunning.

It is this wonderful view that has defined the standard for which we have tried to follow in all that we have done at the villa. ====================================================================================

The villa has undergone complete renovation in recent years including, of course, new bathrooms and kitchen and also new air conditioning.

Most recently our attention turned to upgrading the gardens around our existing mature trees which include olive, eucalyptus, oleander, pine, cedar, apricot, palm and cypress trees.

This started with the laying of our full sized boules court on the lower garden terrace, which is great afternoon fun! Then the creation of a large decked area with a viewing gallery overlooking the boules court for the non-players. The inspiration for the deck is our fabulous palm tree, which makes it the perfect place for relaxing in dappled sunshine on our outdoor lounge furniture.

Next, a Chelsea Flower Showing and Tatton Park gold medal winning team of design and landscapers came over and redesigned, extended and rebuilt the sun and pool terracing. The pool itself was also refurbished and pool heating added. The pool has a safety alarm. At the same time, the main flowerbeds were replanted and incorporated a fully automated, underground irrigation system.

By the pool there is an outdoor shower and a pool house (equipped with WiFi, drinks fridge, sink, music player and seating). The pool house and adjacent area get late sunshine and is wonderfully sheltered making sunbathing still possible in cooler months.

The landscaping team returned the following year to create an area by the boules court to enjoy a game of outdoor table tennis amongst other games. They also added new flowerbeds and linking paths, completing the look with a formal garden in the top corner featuring a semi circular teak bench. This is a perfect area for a quiet moment or coffee and newspapers in the morning sun.

In the last year, the exterior of the house has been completely repainted, our access road has been re-surfaced and our pool has just been re-tiled, demonstrating our commitment to a very high level of maintenance.

The pool and garden are beautifully lit at night time and all these areas can be viewed from a large terrace which wraps around the house where we have an outdoor dining table adjacent to our climbing bougainvillea. There is a patio heater for cooler months and a choice of gas or conventional charcoal Weber barbeques. Dining here on the terrace with the sun going down and the lights coming on in Mougins Village is always a delight.

There is high hedging on all sides for excellent privacy.

The villa has private parking for 3 cars and is secured by remote controlled electric gates. ====================================================================================

Children are very welcome at Villa Oleander and we have plastic boules for the boules court and plenty of inflatables for the heated pool. The children (and young at heart adults!) will enjoy the renovation of our games room, featuring a slate bed pool table and lounge area with large flatscreen TV and Xbox 360 games console (with Kinect and DVD player) and seating area for books and board games. ====================================================================================

Getting around

Most people chose to hire a car to make the most of the area. Mougins Old Village is just a 15-20 minute walk away. A 10 minute drive takes you to Mouans Sartoux station which has access to all the coastal towns from Cannes to Monaco and beyond into Italy.
