A charming village house in the beautiful Provençal hill top village of Mougins over looking the Bay of Cannes and the hills of Grasse .The village is pedestrianised with lots of restaurants and art galleries just a stones throw away, yet the house is peacefully located. It has secure parking at the entrance of the village and the house is within walking distance. The village has a romantic, glamorous, yet casual feel to it. It is close enough to have an evening in Cannes for Film Festival decadence or a bohemian trip to St.Tropez. For couples who would like to have a secret getaway - to indulge in the abundance of the South of France- to be located in a village like Mougins which is perfect for daytime exploring, or beach restaurants and have the local village night life within walking distance - this is for you!
At the top of the house, the terrace has a stunning view of the sea and is suitable for sunbathing and al fresco dining. It is on the same level as the sitting room with fireplace going down to the 1 -2 bedrooms (depending on your requirements) and a connecting WC. The kitchen and dining room are fully equipped. The bathroom is also on this level with two sinks, bath, shower and WC.
This property is a perfect romantic getaway with restaurants within walking distance and Cannes beaches just 6 kms away, or it's great for those attending the many conferences and events held in Cannes. The village is a short 25 minute drive from Nice airport.
Mougins has a typical provençal atmosphere with narrow pedestrianised flower filled streets. It has highly rated restaurants, art galleries and artsy shops. Artists flock here to paint because of the amazing light and sunshine. There are many top golf courses nearby including the Royal Mougins Golf Course. Ideal for making day trips to the perfume capital, Grasse and Cannes, home of the famous film festival held every year in May. As well, the local villages of Biot (glassblowing), Cap d'Antibes (museum and yachts), St. Tropez (the rich and famous), Nice (old town and Promenade des Anglais) with Eze and Monaco nearby. The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region
In the hills beyond Cannes, Mougins is a medieval village built on an outcrop in the shape of a shell. Its narrow flower-filled streets have attracted the greatest names of the art world, including Picasso, Man Ray, Léger etc. Its typically Provençal atmosphere, its many art-galleries and highly-rated restaurants give it indescribable charm.
Mougins is picturesque and charming, with beautiful French architecture carefully restored. This scenery, colour and light quality has attracted many artists and celebrities to the village, such as Picasso, Cocteau, Winston Churchill and Christian Dior, as well as many others. Picasso spent the last 15 years of his life living in Mougins, and today the Museum of Photography in Mougins has an interesting permanent collection of photographic portraits of Picasso.
The town has a large number of excellent gastronomic restaurants. Many are in the centre of the village, but some are elsewhere, including perhaps the most famous, the Moulin de Mougins. Paloma, one of the newest restaurants, was awarded a michelin star in 2013.
