Location description from owner

The Rhône-Alpes region

Morzine is situated in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps and combines alpine charm and the facilities of a large resort with the convenience of being only 75 minutes from Geneva.

Morzine

In the winter, Morzine is not just a ski resort but a living, well established town located at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski circuit where 13 resorts in France and Switzerland are linked to provide a staggering 650 kms of piste and plenty of off-piste. With more than 200 lifts sometimes the most difficult decision is which area to discover next.

The village has an all year round community and there is a large choice of bars and restaurants. Local specialities include tartiflette, raclette and pierrade. The shops are numerous and the local cheeses, wines, salamis and patisseries are delicious.

If you like Morzine in winter, then you'll love it in summer! It's the same town but seems so different; bright flower displays spilling from every balcony, green pastures all round, colourful parapentes up in the azure sky, the tinkling of Alpine cow bells amongst the wild flowers up on the slopes. There's such a variety of activities and sports to try, ranging from the increasingly popular mountain biking and hiking to golf, parapenting, tennis, adventure parks, white water rafting and via ferrata. Many of these activities are suitable for families with children, which means that you can have an active and interesting summer holiday, keeping everyone happy!

25 Portes du Soleil ski lifts are open in the summer enabling you to get up high for spectacular walking or mountain biking – in fact the whole Portes du Soleil circuit can be covered in a day on mountain bikes once you get up to intermediate level.

The summer has a much more laid-back feel; town bars and restaurants have sunny terraces spilling out onto the pavements, people have the time for a refreshing glass or rosé or beer in the warm summer evenings, BBQ scents fill the air, and the whole valley opens up to be discovered – there are wonderful mountain restaurants to try in places that you've never been to before!

“Home from Home”

Reviewed 10 Feb 2015

'Home from Home' always a bit cliched and very overused but I have to say this Apartment is a Gem and very worthy of the statement. Stayed here last week while skiing with 4 friends. Huge apartment with a very homely feel, which is warm and welcoming after a long day on the slopes. Right in the center of Morzine with lovely restaurants, bars and entertainment in the immediate vacinity. Ten minutes walk to the Pleney lift and right behind a well stocked Carrefour. From booking with the owner to the transfers to and from the Airport with the Mountain Highs Team I could not give a higher recommendation!

“Fabulous time had by all”

Lovely light spacious well equipped apartment. Had visited some years ago in summer, came back to ski with our adult children and one school age child. Late season, with glorious spring weather but still plenty of snow up the mountain, pistes well maintained and despite school holidays, not crowded! It's a walk to the lifts but rented a locker at the foot of the Pleney lift. Morzine is a pretty resort with plenty of facilities, would happily come again. Very helpful agent, Mountain Highs.

“Great Accommodation and great location”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2014

we arrived for our annual snowboarding holiday, 8 males. the whole apartment is very spacious, 2 good sized bathrooms. 5 minutes walk from the centre, and super morzine or pleney lift and next door to supermarket. Fully equipped with tumble dryers and washing machine etc. Would recommend this to any family or group.

“Spacious, light and airy family accommodation”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

Le Jangilau is located in central Morzine, within walking distance of Le Pleney, Super Morzine, shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The apartment is spacious and the sunlight floods through it. There is a lovely view from the living room windows of the blue piste"B". There are two bathrooms which are a must when you are on holiday as a family of 4 with granny and granddad too! Although the apartment is in a block, there is hardly any noise from the neighbouring apartments.

“Fantastic Apartment”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

I have stayed at Le Jangilau many times for snowboarding and it has always found it to be consistently great! The apartment is spacious and well kitted out with everything you need - especially in the kitchen! I love the balcony overlooking the mountain which is awesome when they sun is shining! It is convenient for the ski lifts - approx 10 mins walk which is no problem at all - and has an adequate supermarket on it's doorstep. The free Wi-fi is also brilliant! If there are any problems during the stay (which there very rarely are), Dean and Rachel are never too far away and sort things out quickly. The whole resort is excellent and, even tho I have been here numerous times, I have never got bored of the runs! Morzine is an excellent little town with everything you need for a great stay! I have had many a happy time in this apartment and am very much looking forward to staying here again next season!
