“Great location for summer activities”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2015

We really enjoyed our stay at apartment Eloise and would definitely consider it for a ski trip in the future but the summer season offers all sorts of activities which are plentiful. We went white water rafting, walking, swimming, zip wires and plenty more on offer. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable on the whole. The only reason I have not awarded 5 stars is due to the lack of external dining facility, because on a summer holiday it is nicer to eat outdoors. The inside dining area is close to the very large patio door though and the windows all open wide. Also all the accommodation in the area is set up naturally for the ski season so we did suffer with the heat as there is obviously no aircon but this was not a fault in any way, just unseasonally hot conditions. We made use of the jacuzzi in the garden and we also took advantage of the caterers Chez Toi who provided us with a superb evening meal and BBQ pack. They cater the chalet throughout the winter and I would certainly recommend them. So on the whole, a very good stay.

“A very comfortable apartment, convenient location with an excellent view.”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2015

Our family of four with two young adult sons stayed here this summer for just one week. We self catered most of the time and had meals out. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather - the early July heatwave was a huge plus for our week long stay. Firstly the location of the apartment was good, although on a main road it was quiet with very little traffic even at peak times. We often preferred to leave our hire car parked on the apartment's shared driveway and enjoyed a leisurely 15/20 min walk into the main town which was a real bonus to be able to do that. Although there was a bus stop (by the recycling/rubbish collection point) nearby to the apartment we didn't use the public transport so cannot comment upon it. The view of the Le Pleney and the Morzine valley from the dining room and kitchen windows was marvellous to wake up to and to watch the lifts / telecabins start moving in the distance, superb. The well appointed kitchen had all the utensils and equipment etc., we needed. There was plenty of cupboard and fridge/freezer space for all our own food. The lounge/dining area was more than generous for a family of four and a comfortable place to relax in with some nice touches here and there for added comfort. The Hot Tub and patio area is fairly private and generous enough to allow several people to soak up some rays on the two outdoor chairs and lying outstretched. On that point if we were to be really picky it might have benefited from some sun loungers to have completed the perfect sunbathing experience, as it's a real sun trap. The bedrooms again very comfortable, nicely decorated with plenty of all important cupboard/wardrobe space. It was so hot whilst we were there we had to strip the beds of their lovely thick warm duvets in order to sleep comfortably. The main hallway bathroom and the en-suite bathroom both had superb double showers with generous sized shower cubicles. Full marks for those! The bathrooms were very nicely decorated and gave a lovely impression of being clean, new and fresh. If we were to be really critical then we would have to mention the close proximity of the hand basin to the toilet opposite, in the en-suite bathroom (also with a lovely generous shower & cubicle) which might be an issue for a very large/tall person. To try to put some perspective on that statement the 3 men in our family are all about 5'10/11 tall and none of us had any problem whatsoever but it just appeared a bit close. Another small point we feel worth mentioning is although the vendor and the lady who greeted us on our arrival with they key were very helpful, patient and always answered all our questions at the time to our satisfaction - being first timers to Morzine, we think it would have been useful to have a small folder or ring binder in the apartment containing a few hints, tips and recommendations about what is worth seeing, doing, or places to eat or avoid locally, which we've always found helpful at other places we've stayed in over the years. And finally, overall we had a wonderful stay with plenty of activities available locally and the reduced rate for the chair lifts/telecabins not to mention the Free access to the Town's Olympic sized swimming pool (men be aware - only tight fitting {hygenic?} swimming trunks/speedos are allowed in the swimming pool), ice-skating through the Multi-Pass discount available by using that accommodation was another huge bonus. Thank you to Karen for a marvellous weeks summer holiday and we all wished we could have stayed for much longer.

“Can't wait to go back and see it in the snow!”

We had a wonderful week at Chalet Eloise in August. Obviously the scenery is selling point enough and there was plenty to do in Morzine and the surrounding area. But it was the fact that we had this fabulous chalet to return to in the evenings which made the holiday. We all agreed that we had had the best sleep there and the pillows I have to say are amazing. The kitchen is very well stocked and had everything we needed and it was very useful having the washing facilities. The hot tub was of course an even bigger bonus. It was lovely going in the summer, and I hope one day soon we can go back in the winter as it must be really beautiful.
