However, if you wanted to go further a field Morillon is only a 40 minute drive away from the famous Chamonix Mont Blanc where, for the extremely adventurous amongst you, you can ski the famous Vallee Blanche which is an off-piste ski route, 17km long with a vertical descent of 2800m. The views are stunning and the high mountain environment provides a real sensation of wilderness. This is one of those memorable life experiences. A mountain guide is essential if you fancy doing this trip. With just a 20 minute drive to Les Gets or 30 minutes to Morzine from Morillon you can also ski in the Portes du Soleil. But with the Grand Massif within walking distance from the Chalet you have 265km of pistes to keep you busy.
In the summer the surrounding area is filled with amazing flora and fauna and within driving distance there are many beautiful classic Savoyard towns and villages to visit.
