Description

Surround yourself with beauty, relaxation and natural fun in Georgia’s Blue Ridge and Morganton area. At our cabin, relax on the dock or explore Lake Blue Ridge with the use of both our 2 person and 1 person kayaks.

This 3 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin is just steps away from Lake Blue Ridge. With 2 queen size beds and bunk bed, it comfortably sleeps 6. The bedroom and dining room furniture have all been custom made to go with the cabin décor.

The dock is just a short walk (70 paces) down a nature trail where you can enjoy the use of our 2 person kayak.

If you are planning on bringing or renting a boat, you will have multiple options for boat ramp access in the area.

Relax in the 6 person hot tub or on the hammock. The back of the cabin has a large screened in porch which looks out into the Chattahoochee National Forest. You can also enjoy the fire pit or use of gas and charcoal grills.

Our cabin is located close to a wide range of activities. Renew your spirit on a day hike to local waterfalls or horseback riding on forested trails in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway or treetop canopy adventure. Rent a pontoon or a jet ski on beautiful Lake Blue Ridge. Pick strawberries or blueberries at Mercier Orchards, a 65 year old family orchard. Catch a trout on the tail waters of the Toccoa River or a clear mountain stream; Blue Ridge is the Trout Fishing Capital of Georgia.

Check out the authentic mountain towns of Blue Ridge and McCaysville. Blue Ridge is a different kind of mountain town, filled with art galleries, antique and specialty shops, restaurants, small town atmosphere and friendly people.

The crystal clear aquamarine waters of Lake Blue Ridge make it one of Georgia's most picturesque mountain lakes. The 3,290-acre lake and surrounding area offer several boat ramps, a full-service marina and public swimming and picnic areas. 80 percent of the shoreline on Lake Blue Ridge is in the Chattahoochee National Forest, managed by the USDA Forest Service.

There’s a scenic overlook above the dam and a shaded picnic area near the powerhouse. The canoe and kayak launch site below the dam gives non-motorized boaters access to the Toccoa River.

The lake is home to bass, bream, catfish, perch and crappie, which make the area popular with anglers. It is the only lake south of the Great Lakes where Walleye are caught, and is also known for small-mouth bass fishing. Pontoons and jet skis are available for rent at the Lake Blue Ridge Marina, on old U.S. 76. The marina has a boat ramp, fishing, boating supplies and boat storage.

Although On Lake Time is a fantastic place in the spring and summer months, the fall offers beautiful fall colors and our cabin is surrounded by national forest for plenty of fall scenery. In the winter the leaves give way and reveal a completely different perspective with snow covered mountains at times.

Important things we like to make clear to our guests:

Getting to our cabin: the last 2.4 miles is a gravel road that winds through national forest. It is scenic and adds to the feeling of being secluded. It is maintained and does not require four wheel drive however cars with little ground clearance will need to take it a bit slower. Sometimes after hard rains there are some ruts in the road but nothing treacherous.

Boat Ramp Access: the closest access is to walk out your front door and take a left. Turn right on the first gravel road (Timmy Circle) and head towards the lake. NOTE (access is not a concrete ramp but a gentle slope covered with stones and rock.) The boat access located at the cabin is better suited for smaller boats like john boats etc. There are a number of other options. Boat ramps are available at Morganton Point Recreation Area in Morganton. Other boat ramps are located at Lakewood Landing on Old Highway 76, Morganton, and Lake Blue Ridge Recreation Area, Aska Road. We recommend using Lakewood Landing Boat Launch located on the north side of the Lake or Morganton Point Recreation Area on the east side. Morganton Point is the least distance from our cabin and dock. Most of our guests who bring a boat put in at one of these points and then take it to our dock.

Access to our dock: Our dock is located about 70 paces on a trail from the cabin. The last section before reaching the dock is down a gentle slope and there are a few steps going down. People who already have difficulty getting around may not be able to make it down to the dock as it is a trail and is not handicap accessible.
