“A brilliant stay.”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2013

The first time we hired this delightful cottage was in 2011, my wife, daughter and two grandchildren had a great time. So much so in fact I decided to hire it again in June of this year together with my brother and his wife, again we had a great time. Ideally situated in the Snowdonia National Park there is much to see and do, a short walk takes you to the lovely (and huge) Blackrock Sands beach. Flat and car friendly this beach must rate as among the best in Europe, the water is warm and shallow, ideal for children. The cottage is well equipped from top to bottom, the kitchen has everything you have at home, it lacks nothing. Would I stay there again? A most definite yes.

“A very comfortable, clean and convenient holiday home...”

My husband and I brought our 5 yr old grandson to Wales for his first visit, he just loves trains so this area was ideal. The area is beautiful and the location of Sea Spray was perfect for the beach, as well as access to Porthmadog and surrounding areas. Sea Spray itself was a very clean, modern comfortable home to stay in with everything (except a dishwasher) you would need. There is a local chip shop as well as a Spar shop for milk etc and access to the beach from this house was very convenient. All in all an excellent place to stay ideal for all age groups. I would certainly recommend this comfortable, clean accommodation and would definitely stay again.

“Simply Perfect In Every Way (but don't tell anyone)”

I'm probably going to regret doing this as we loved the property, the convenience and the location so much that we should keep it a big, big secret - we want to return in the future. Sea Spray was perfect accommodation for our family, clean, tidy and recently refurbished. Beautiful dining kitchen with conservatory. The key system was great as we only needed one set of keys even if we went out at different times. The wifi Internet access was perfect and accessible from any point in the house. The location was great, within walking distance of Black Rock Sands. Massive beach, amazing caves but be careful to stick to designated driving area otherwise you'll be sticking around for a different reason. You can even take the car on the beach -£4 charge but well worth it. Local Spa store, Fish and Chips, and children's play area. The house is close to an Haven caravan park with shop, cash point, play area and amusements. Very nice, well kept park ( and I'm not a fan of Haven). Portmadog is a short drive away where you'll find Tesco, shops, little steam train and another children's play area. Best thing about Portmadog is crabbing so don't forget your crab lines, buckets, net and old smelly bacon. You'll be amazed at the amount you can catch. Put them back nicely though where they launch the boats. To give a balanced view - the downsides if you can call them that - floor in the living room is a little wavy (just needs a couple of screws) and the can opener needed new batteries. The owners had provided replacement batteries but there was only one left in the packet. Oh and we didn't know when the rubbish bin should be put out for the bin men. There was a leaflet on the notice board but it didn't say what day collection was. The tv was a little on the small side for the oldies but you don't go on holiday to watch tv. I forgot to mention how well equipped the house was in case you run out of anything. There was also iron and ironing board, hairdryer, vacuum, washing machine and washing rack. Oh and pepper pig dvd's and we also found some other dvd's in the cupboard when checking to see what the children might have hidden before packing away. Oh, and the communication from the owners was very good and paying via paypal made the process quick and easy. Deposit was returned almost immediately.
