Moreton in Marsh is one of the principal market towns of the Cotswolds. Still featuring a lively and busy market every Tuesday throughout the year, and with six excellent pubs within walking distance, a selection of shops, tea shops and restaurants, Moreton in Marsh has something for everybody. It is within easy reach of other Cotswold towns and villages including, Broadway, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, The Slaughters, Stow on the Wold, and Bibury.

Note- due to steep staircases we feel the property is not suitable for children under the age of 5 years, or for those with limited mobility.

Location description from owner

The Cotswolds region

Moreton in Marsh is situated on the Fosse Way (Roman road) and is one of the principal market towns in the North Cotswolds. It is well served by both road and rail, and is on the mainline between London and Hereford.

It grew up in the 13th century as a market town, and still hosts a thriving weekly market (Tuesdays) hosting around 200 stalls. The main street is wide with plenty of car parking and wide footpaths.

Moreton in Marsh has welcomed travellers for over 1,700 years, being used as a coaching station before the coming of the railway. There are still a number of pubs and coaching inns in the town and numerous hotels, tea shops, restaurants and holiday cottages in the town, continuing the tradition of welcoming weary travellers.

Moreton-in-Marsh

The Cotswolds is one of the UK's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is approximately 25 miles (40km) across and 90 miles (145km) long. It is typified by rolling hills and meadows amongst which sit many small honey coloured villages and towns, constructed from the golden coloured Cotswold stone.

Many villages and towns in the area are complete with a wide variety of welcoming country pubs and inns serving local ales, beers and traditional home style food.
