1 bed self catering apartment in morecambe. Sleeps 2 but has a bed settee in the lounge which could accommodate an extra person. The beach is just across the road and is visible from the lounge window. There is a childrens play park across the road. The area is in a regeneration area which has had a lot of money spent on the beach and promenade and is ongoing. There has also been planning passed for the M6 link road from Lancaster to Heysham which has now started..They are also going to build a park and ride. Morecambe bay is known for its coastal lagoons, salt marshes and varied animal life and is very popular for bird watching.There is also kite surfing. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets within walking distance also a chip shop. There is a tarmac area behind the apartment where some houses have been demolished and is used as a FREE CAR PARK.There is also a row of brand new houses and apartments which also use the car park but there are always lots of spaces. morecambe bay is known for its coastal lagoons, salt marshes and varies animal life. it is very popular for bird watching. There is a golf course. Bingo. Guided bay walks. There is a sea view of the Lakeland Hills across the bay. There is a kite flying festival. an air show lots of live bands in the summer. There is the Midland Hotel where you can sit and have coffee. Meals etc Looking over the bay. They also have different activities going on and you can walk there from the galleon. There is also a bowling alley. Bowls. shops. doctors surgery ALL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. A lot of people cycle along the promenade and there is a leisure complex at the other end with indoor gym. swimming pool etc. There is a bus stop across the road from apt. with regular buses to the city of lancaster. There is also the Morecambe Football Arena within walking distance.
The city of lancaster is a short distance away you can go by train (takes about 15 min) or bus. regular buses from across the road from apartment.

“excellent value for money”
Have stayed at The Galleon several times (this time in apartment 1) the apartment is very cosy with a lovely view of Morecambe Bay and the balcony is a great sun trap - toiletries and other extras are also provided and as always there was a really warm welcome from Lisa for whom nothing is too much trouble - will definitely be going back again
“Fabulous views, great location, value for money, fantastic landladly”
My partner and I stayed in this apartment for 4 months. The views from the lounge were absolutely wonderful (looking out over Morecambe Bay). The location was fabulous too - right across the road from a bus-stop (with buses leaving about every 10 minutes), and walking distance to shops where you can buy almost anything you need. The apartment is very comfortable - with a big kitchen, big bathroom and good sized lounge + bedroom. It is not the Taj Mahal, but everything works ! The only time we had a minor problem over the whole four months was when the wireless router went down, and Lisa (the landlady) was IMMEDIATELY there to fix the problem. She was brilliant. I'd recommend this place to anyone on a budget, who wants a comfortable and convenient place to stay.
“Very decent rental”
Stayed here for four nights.The flat faces onto the beach and is compact with bedroom and separate kitchen which leads out onto a south facing balcony. This has astroturf fitted and looks really nice. It is also south facing and a suntrap. The accommodation is pet friendly and we had our cocker spaniel with us. The one downfall is the smell as you enter the stairwell but this is outwith Lisa's control and didn't impact on our stay. There was wi-fi access which was a bonus. There are plenty shops around the vacinity with a Tesco express just around the corner. When we were there they had begun do knock down the derelict buildings behind the flat but I don't know what the plans are for the area which does appear run down.
Derelict houses have AT LAST been knocked down. There are no plans at the moment for the space so that means for now more FREE PARKING for guests. If you look beyond the space there are some victorian properties that have had half a million pound spent on them. Also to the left there is a full street of brand new houses and apartments. the area is improving all the time. There has been a lot of money spent on improving the promenade. Two doors away from here there is a bike hire shop. where you can hire bikes and cycle up the promenade to Heysham or the other way to VVV Leisure and fitness centre which is very popular. there is also a lot of Kite Surfing. a cafe which looks over the bay. a childrens play park across the road. or on a nice evening its nice to walk up the promenade to the newly refurbished Midland Hotel and have a drink and watch the sunset and the view of the Lakeland Hills. Across the road from the midland is a Bowling Alley. All this is in walking distance from here. Also now the link road is being built joining morecambe to the motorway there is a lot of investment coming into the area. All in all it is improving all the time and now the derelict buildings have gone it has improved a lot.
What a great little escape this was. Perfect base for exploring the lower west coast of Scotland. Great little village and a great little boozer. Highly recommended.
