The perfect location of this apartment, makes it the ideal choice for a stay in the delightful fishing village on the Costa Blanca. Situated in a quiet area of Moraira itself, only a few mins walk to the sea, fishing marina and the well maintained l'Ampolla beach, an excellent example of the many top quality beaches along the Costa Blanca.
Architectual design of the apartments, is reminiscent of Gaudi's famous buildings in Barcelona. Situated on the 6th floor the flat has a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, double bedroom with twin beds and lounge diner with table, chairs, bed settee and sofa, making it possible to sleep extra person. French doors from the lounge and from the bedroom give access to a private terrace which runs across the full width of the property and overlooks the communal gardens with small fountain at the front of the apartments and has views inland to the hills.
There is a large rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace, with superb views, on the 5th floor.
Access to the building is on the 2nd or 3rd floor and there are 3 lifts. Entrance to the 2nd floor is on the flat, ideal for those who find stairs difficult. Excellent wheelchair access.
The situation, although so near to the town centre, is very quiet as new road into the town now passes on the other side of the apartments.
Many other Moraira apartments are on nearby orbanisations and are not within easy walking distance of the town.

Car hire is not necessary unless you want to explore the other nearby towns on the Costa Blanca or visit Valencia. Airport pick up can be arranged with owner.If you do want to hire a car there is plenty of free parking nearby.If you wish to visit other nearby towns without a car, there is a local bus service or an inexpensive taxi will take you to the regular Alicante, Denia train service in the nearby town of Teulada. There is a supermarket in the next door which is open 7 days a week from 8am until midnight. There are also several small supermarkets and grocery shops around the town that provide fresh fruit, bread and pastries.
The Valenciana region
The Costa Blanca has become one of Spain's favourite holiday areas and is famous for its wonderful climate, spectacular scenary and fascinating small towns.
Alicante and Valencia are the two main cities of the region and their airports provide easy and reasonably priced access to the area throughout the year.
The area offers plenty to see and do. The coastal towns of Altea and Calpe to the south, Javea and Denia to the north are all are all well worth a visit and situated within a half hour's drive of the apartment. A little further afield is Benidorm, by far the biggest tourist centre of the coast and approximately midway between Moraira and Alicante. Its theme parks and other attractions provide lively entertainment for all generations throughout the year.
Other local leisure facilities include 3 large Golf courses, tennis, football, squash, all water sports, boat hire and trips, horse-riding, go-kart racing tracks for both adults and children.
The mountain towns and villages behind the coast are only a short distance from the major resorts but life there is a world away from the tourist hustle and bustle.
A small coastal town, Moraira is situated in the beautiful mountainous area of the Costa Blanca. The resort is conveniently placed between the airports of Alicante and Valencia (about 90km from each). However, the surrounding area has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful and unspoilt scenery and many small villages to explore.
Moraira, small enough to be unaffected by mass tourism, and fortunate to have retained much of its original charm and character - no high rise development has been permitted - is now vibrant and cosmopolitan holiday village. There is a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants with a choice of international cuisine, all within a few minutes walk from the apartment, as well as Indian, Chinese and Deli take away food at very reasonable prices. There is also a large open market every Friday held right behind the apartment.
Fishing boats still sail from the port, and a magnificent fish auction is held from Tuesday to Sunday in the Lonja (public exchange market) right in the port area. However their numbers are now far exceeded by the luxury yachts and pleasure craft that today use the port facilities and marina.
The two main local sandy beaches, awarded the prestigious EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness, are well tended and very safe for family bathing.
If you are lucky to be there in July, the Patron Saint is the Virgin of the Unsheltered and the Virgin of Carmen who is said to protect the sailors and fishermen. There is a beautiful parade and fireworks and a water procession with the statue of the Virgin floating among endless bouquets of flowers. Quite a scene to be seen!
Moraira enjoys an enviable climate with an average of 325 sunny days each year supporting its claim to be an all year round resort. The World Health Organisation has said that the climate in this part of the Costa Blanca is one of the most equitable in the world.

"Great location, simple apartment with everything needed."
This apartment is in a superb location; 1 minute walk to the main streets, which take you down to the sea front. So easy to stroll down to the restaurants and bars, everything is close by. The apartment is pretty basic but fine if you're not looking for luxury you'll be happy. It has a decent kitchen, good sitting area, bedroom with two single beds and lots of wardrobe space. Bathroom has a bath and shower (but we just used the shower). Washing machine, iron and DVD player all came in handy (there are several charity shops where you can pick up DVDs). The terrace is small but good for drying clothes and sitting out for a coffee. The decor could do with a bit of refreshing, but it was OK. The only thing to be aware of, and it was mentioned in another review, is that there is a middle-of-the-night collection of rubbish from the collection point on the road outside the apartment. This woke me up each night (apart from Sunday when I assume they give it a break!). All in all I would recommend this apartment for a couple looking for a great location and decent home comforts; and if you are a deep sleeper you'll not worry about the rubbish collection.

"Perfect, quiet location, near both the town and beach"
I recently stayed with my partner in this lovely little flat in Moraira. It is very comfortable and well equiped, It is also in a perfect location, just a couple of minutes walk in to the centre of the town or to the beach. If you are looking for somewhere on the coast that is also quiet and unspoilt (not an easy thing on the Spanish coastline nowdays!) Moraira is perfect. We would definitely stay again!

"Ideal position for beach & harbour."
Small apartment, but has everything one needs. Only minutes from lovely beach & harbour.. Take a 20min walk to El Portet the beach is stunning! So many cafes & resturants to choose from. Owner of this apartment was very efficent with booking,keys, directions etc. The refuse collecters woke us at 3am every morning although this was proberbly worse due to the fact that we had the windows open because of the heat. All in all very good value for money! Would use again..

"Walking distance to town and beach."
Ideal location, within 2 mins of town and 5 mins of beach. Moraira is a beautiful resort with some fantastic restaurants. Apartment comfortable and would stay again.

"A very comfortable apartment close to all amenities"
We have stayed in this apartment for the last two Christmases, the fact that we returned, and intend to do so again, saying it all. From the start, everything went very smoothly, with the keys to the apartment arriving in the post at home so that there was no need for complex arrangements to pick them up on arrival. Detailed instructions on how to find the building, access the apartment and turn on water heating etc were also provided before we travelled so we knew what to expect. We had hired a car at the airport but I believe that transport can be arranged. The kitchen was very well equipped and the two sofas are ideal for relaxing after a long day out. There are three lifts in the building which make access to the 6th floor quick and easy. Since we were there at Christmas, the pool area was closed for the season, so we don't know what it would be like in summer. We hope to find out soon though. The only slight drawback of this apartment would be if more than two people were staying, although there is a sofa bed. The balcony is rather too narrow for three people to sit out round the table for eating outdoors. Since we always visit as a couple, the balcony is just fine. It gets the morning sun for breakfast and is shaded for the heat of the day. Storage for clothes would also be rather limited for three people. As for the area, even in winter the weather was far better than we experienced at home this year, it being 24 degrees one day. Many of the restaurants and bars are closed, or have reduced opening times, at that time of year, but with Moraira being a real town, not just a tourist resort, there were still plenty open. Our favourite bar is The Royal Beach Club which sounds as if it would be for the Brits but seems in fact to be used more by locals. The variety of food to be found in the restaurants is also very good. Toscamar II is situated right on the edge of the town centre, with the free car park just across the road. The supermarket next door is open 365 days a year, till late at night, so it only takes minutes to get fresh bread for breakfast or stock up on basics if you arrive late. It is a bit pricey so we would advise using other markets for major grocery shopping. Moraira has something to do all year round. It is a really nice town, not made up of the vast tourist skyscrapers that mar resorts such as Benidorm. There are the beaches and the usual tourist activities in the summer and, in the cooler months, there is spectacular walking to be had in the mountains which are within easy reach by car. This apartment couldn't be more convenient to it all. We are looking forward to our next visit.
