The Valencian Country region

Moraira is set in the Alicante Province of the Costa Blanca and enjoys one of the best climates in Spain. The region is steeped in history and has easy access to the cities of Valencia and Alicante with Barcelona a possibility for an extended excursion overnight.

The temperature is very pleasant all year round with a good sunshine record. Long summer days and pleasant winter times, so attracting many visitors at all times of the year.

The atmosphere is more typically Spanish than some of the more ‘touristy’ areas yet you can still enjoy English bars and food if you prefer. A cosmopolitan range of bars and restaurants are available. Benidorm and its many attractions is only 20 minutes by road yet is a million miles away from the quiet town of Moraira.

Other activities include; golf, horse riding, sailing, bird watching, jet ski hire, fishing and mountain walking. All within the local area. If mountain villages and real Spain are your thing then you are only 20 minutes away from the Jalon Valley and onto the waterfalls and castle at Gudalest.

There are also a lot of activities for children with a visit to the seasonal attractions of Terra Mitica (Theme Park with roller coasters etc) Aqualandia - a must for fans of water parks as it's the biggest one in Europe. Next to it is Mundomar which is a huge marine theme park dedicated to aquatic animals. The dolphin show is the highlight of the day.

Moraira

Cumbre del Sol is an exclusive residential area only about 5 minutes drive from the small, pretty fishing town of Moraira. Because of its elevation, the views from Cumbre del Sol across Moraira towards the Penon de Ifach and the Montgo and Sierra de Bernia mountains are spectacular. The local beach, Playa del Moraig, is about 1.5 kms from the villa and is a small, picturesque cove used almost entirely by local residents. Facilities include a small beach-bar, toilets, and the hire of sun-beds and parasols. Elsewhere on Cumbre del Sol you'll find excellent restaurants, an international supermarket, banks, and a pharmacy; for the more energetic there are also tennis courts and a horse riding centre.

Moraira town is an attractive blend of the old and the new with a wide selection of boutiques, shops, bars and some excellent restaurants offering a wide choice of Spanish and international cuisine. Moraira's main beach, L'Ampolla, at the foot of the castle, is an ideal 'family' beach with lots of golden sand and excellent facilities while just 1.5 kms away is El Portet. Surrounded by steep hills, this sheltered bay with its gently sloping beach is perfect for safe swimming. A traditional weekly market takes place in Moraira every Friday. Besides buying fresh vegetables and fruit, you can find a large selection of other merchandise such as plants, leather goods, and many other products from local craftsmen.

Calpe, with its numerous sandy beaches, is about 30 minutes drive away. Here you'll also find the majestic Penon de Ifach. It was originally called the 'Northern Rock' by Phoenician traders in order to distinguish it from Gibraltar. The volcanic Rock measures over 300 m high and is now a nature reserve. However, for those wishing to get a breathtaking view of the coastline, there is a path which takes you to the peak.

Javea, about 15 minutes drive away, is split into 3 distinct parts: namely, the old town, port, and beach area. The mediaeval old town is a maze of narrow winding streets, white fronted houses adorned with wrought-iron balconies and gothic style windows, and many ancient churches. The old town leads down to the fishing port and harbour; home to an interesting collection of bars and restaurants, many of them serving the catch of the day. Javea has many beaches but the main area is Playa del Arenal. And, as in Pamplona, bull running through the streets of the old town still takes place on an annual basis.

Denia, about 25 minutes away, is the largest of all the local towns. However, the town, rich in history, has still retained a lot of its old charm; for example, the fishermen's quarter preserves its delightful cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings. There is an abundance of beaches near the town, many of them consistently winning the European 'blue flag' for safety and cleanliness. Denia's main focal point, though, is its impressive 16th century castle which dominates the town.

Within just a short drive from the villa, you'll find a range of activities to satisfy even the most discerning holiday-maker. For example, there are three excellent golf courses nearby with one of them, the Olazabal-designed course at La Sella, also offering tennis and squash facilities. In nearby Moraira and Javea, you'll also find diving schools and jet-ski facilities. However, for those wanting a more relaxing holiday, there are many scenic walks with the tourist office on Cumbre del Sol offering free guided walks of the area during the summer.

“A stunning villa”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2014

The villa is superbly equipped, extremely comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean. It is as good, if not better than the description and pictures on the website. On entering the villa for the first time, our teenage boys, who are not easily impressed, both said "Wow!" The views from the villa are spectacular. From early in the morning until late at night we never tired of sitting and taking in the beautiful views. The location of the villa is good. Quiet but not remote. Perfect for a relaxing holiday but also plenty to entertain both adults and children a short drive away. Denia, Javea and Calpe are all worth a visit, as well as the water park in Benidorm if the children insist! The pool is beautifully kept. Large enough to swim in and deep enough for the children to dive. Lovely fresh water too. Karen was a delight to deal with, from our initial enquiries, throughout our holiday to our return home. Casa Brisa de Verano is a stunning villa in a good location. We would highly recommend it and we hope to return.

“Perfect family villa, superbly equipped with stunning view”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2014

This is a faultless villa, furnished and equipped to very high standards. When you enter it you will know you have made the right choice. The villa is equipped with top quality appliances, everything you might want is there and works perfectly and is spotlessly clean. The views and the standards throughout all exceeded our expectations. There is an excellent supermarket within a 5 minute drive and numerous good restaurants in Moraira within a 10 minute drive. Moraira is a lovely town particularly at night with a warm friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend this villa and would love to go back

“Perfect location for relaxing break”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2014

This is an excellent villa set in a superb location and extremely well equipped. I visited with my wife and two teenage kids in Jul/Aug 2014. We've been on a number of villa holidays in Europe, but never visited the Costa Blanca before. Moraira is a small(ish) town with a posh harbour surrounded by hills/mountains which are covered with private villas built in specific urbanisations. Casa Brisa de Verano is situated in the Cumbre Del Sol urbanisation, which sits atop one of these hills. The villa was actually quite tough to find, even though we had the GPS co-ordinates, because street signs are few and far between and all the roads look the same. The villa actually sits down from the roadside, accessible via some steps, so it's quite anonymous when looking from the road. For this reason it's quite a shock when you open the door and see the splendour within. You enter on the upper floor, where the bedrooms are situated, then walk down a spiral staircase to a roomy lounge, TV area and modern kitchen, then out through huge sliding doors to a wide veranda and lovely pool. Best of all though is the view down the mountain side and out towards Calpe - it's spectacular, especially at night when the sun sets directly opposite the veranda. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need, there are two BBQs, five sun loungers, a huge TV, 100+ DVDs, air con in all bedrooms and in the lounge - even 2 hairdryers... The gardens are pristine - really well looked after. The veranda is west-facing, so it doesn't receive the sun until midday, then basks in it all afternoon through to sunset. Being on a hillside there's also a lovely breeze to take the edge of the heat. Most days we went out in the mornings then returned for the afternoon at the villa. There are 5-6 decent beaches within a 15-20 minutes drive, but you need to get to the beach by 10:30am in order to get parked in the high summer months. The beaches also get very busy, especially on a Sunday. There are a number of good supermarkets within a 10 minute drive (Pepe le Sal for fresh meat, Mercadona for everything else). You need a car - there's very little within walking distance. Javea old town is lovely, Benissa not so much, and I even quite liked Calpe despite the high rise apartment blocks. Final note - in two weeks I only saw one wasp (on a beach) and there were no mosquitos... I really can't fault the villa and Karen saved my bacon at the end of our stay by mailing me back my car and house keys which I had mistakenly left in a drawer...

“Spectacular”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2014

What a beautiful, immaculate villa! So modern, airy and light with every facility you could wish for .Best of all were the unbelievable views from the terrace and the beauty of the surrounding area everywhere you travel. Pool was good size and very clean, we did not get too hot either as nice breeze to cool you down. Also within easy reach of very good supermarkets and the lovely town of Moraira with fantastic choice of restaurants and very friendly atmosphere. We can't wait to return next year.

“Lovely relaxing break”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2013

Gorgeous very well appointed villa with views to die for. Stunning beach within a few minutes drive. Great local super market with divine Iberico ham and local Tempranillo at ludicrously low prices. Close proximatey to local town and a plethora of good eating establisments. Whats not to like, will definitely return.

“Wonderful villa - Fabulous views - Owner a pleasure to deal with”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2013

Excellent, friendly and professional service from the owner. The villa was exactly as described, but somehow better in reality. The views are fantastic and the villa is very well appointed and maintained. A car is necessary, but the view is only possible with height. Supermarkets within a couple of minutes drive, and Moraira is easily reached in under 10 minutes. There is a very steep drop beyond the edge of the pool as can be seen from the photo's but the balustrade is robust and the steep drop is signposted. The villa is surrounded with lovely country side and garden, there is shelter near the pool if a break is needed from the sun. The patio/balcony provide a wonderful excellent spot to watch the sun go down and the stars emerge. A fantastic holiday was had by all! (aged between 8 - 63)

“A beautiful villa with views to die for and an amazing outdoor area”

Reviewed 13 May 2012

We stayed in this villa for the first week of our honeymoon in late April 2012. We've stayed in Moraira, and specifically Cumbre Del Sol numerous times so knew what we were looking for. Casa Brisa Verano was spacious, extremely clean, and beautifully decorated. All our contact with Karen ahead of our stay was prompt and friendly and we left England to go to Spain with no worries or concerns. When you arrive at the villa it's a wow moment as you enter- such a lovely open space and the outdoor area is stunning. As you will know if you've stayed at Cumbre, a car is a must - but it's well worth it. Our favourite place in the world!! Thanks for an amazing honeymoon. Ben and Marieke Mollitt
