Description

Chalet Leon is a beautifully positioned and well-appointed traditional wood built chalet located in the quiet picturesque old part of Morzine known as L'Ele.

The Chalet was refurbished in 2011 and is on three floors. The mezzanine floor has a double and two single beds. On the lower ground floor there is a double room and a twin bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet.

The bars, shops and restaurants of Morzine are a short walk away.

The village of Montriond is 800m from Chalet Leon. Here you will find a bar-tabac, restaurants, ski hire shop, ski school office, supermarket and the Tourist Information Centre.

The Chalet is very convenient for winter sports, just a 150m walk to the ski bus stop.

On street level there is a cosy lounge with wood burning stove leading onto the double sided balcony which has wonderful mountain views.

The fully equiped kitchen/diner has a microwave oven, gas cooker and fridge freezer. The shower room and WC are located on this level.

The lower floor houses a double bedroom and a twin room with ensuite shower and toilet. The top floor is a mezzanine area with a double and two single beds.

There is a terraced garden to the side of the chalet and parking at the front.

“Chalet Leon, great place!”

We really loved staying at Chalet Leon! It had all we needed. Two showers/toilets and a large kitchen and a cosy living room with fire place!. Two of our boys had there own "men-cave" upstairs. Eldest son enjoyed his large bedroom downstairs. The chalet is close to Morzine, also easy to walk. Also would like to thank Simon who was really helpful and kind to answer all my questions .....

“Comfy, well equiped, well situated chalet”

Loved this chalet! It was comfortable with everything we needed. Showers and kitchen good, and ski locker appreciated. Key safe also useful, so our party could come and go at different times. Stairs fairly narrow and a little slippy- would need to be careful with children- and if you are tall, need to watch your head. But the chalet was full of alpine character. Location also good. A lovely 15 min walk into the town (especially along the small road that the chalet is on and over the suspension bridge.) 2 min walk to stop for bus to Ardent (where lifts to Avoriaz, Chatel and les Crosets/Champery start- these are the most snowsure areas.) To ski on Pleney side, ideally you need a lift, or if you hire skis in town, you may be able to leave them at the hire shop overnight (we could have.) Otherwise, it's a double (short) bus journey, or bus and uphill walk through town with skis. Nearest shop for morning bread/croissants 10 min walk (in Montriond.) Would stay here again!

“Good Chalet in Excellent location”

The chalet is ideally located between Morzine & Montriond, which are both within walking distance. The chalet is well equipped and the views from the balcony are fantastic. The Multi-Pass scheme is excellent which we made good use of in the swimming complex in Morzine and the Mini Golf at Avoriaz. We'll visit again.

Having travelled extensively in France over 25 years, particularly in the summer months, it was a pleasure to find such a gem of a facility in Chalet Leon in a wonderful location. Morzine and Montriond are situated in a truly magnificent and spectacular part of Haute Savoie. The chalet provides all modern convenience in a traditional french manner. Its location is admirably positioned within easy walking distance and access to central Morzine and Montriond, close to ski-lifts, restaurants, leisure facilities, tourist information and provides all requirements for a perfect, relaxing break in a memorable location. Highly recommended without reservation.

“looks can be deceiving”

had an amazing ski holiday in February and your chalet was absolutely perfect! On arrival we were so pleasantly surprised at the fantastic use of space as the photos show it looks very small from the outside but the use of space over three levels made it feel spacious, it was a comfortable stay, always warm and cosy, yet with enough space to host a dinner for 10 people one night and the location was perfect, we had previously stayed on the other side of the valley however with the suspension bridge as a link it took no time at all to reach the town. I would definitely stay in your chalet again and appreciate how easy you made planning our holiday.

A group of 6 stayed very comfortably in this picturesque Chalet, we were all able to comfortably have breakfast and dinner in the kitchen/dining room and in the evenings we relaxed in the comfortable sofas with a true log burning fire. This is without doubt the best Chalet we have rented in Morzine and an easy 10 walk to the main lift and regular buses if you prefer. As an added bonus our deposit was refunded very promptly with no issues, so we cannot recommend this enough to any groups of friends or families looking for a traditional style, warm timber chalet.

We went for a late summer break at the Chalet with friends. Flying into Geneva, we then drove across to Morzine using a hire car which was no problems (even driving a left-hand car for the 1st time!). The week was fantastic, the weather was perfect and it was a great place to relax. Some of the best memories will be swimming in the nearby Lake Montriond (the water was even warm!), and taking the Mont Blanc cable car to the Aiguille du Midi and being rewarded with some fanastic views with cloudless skies. We almost spent some time in Morzine visiting the shops, a few walks in the countryside to nearby waterfalls and a couple of day trips to a nearby gorge and also Evian which is well worth a visit.

How do damage deposits work?
