Description from owner

Description

Camelas-Lloret is an 18th-century home in a quiet historic village near Carcassonne. The interior and garden have been gently restored and furnished with local vintage and handmade pieces by interior designer Annie Moore. We offer a calm home away from home for your exploration of the Cathar country.

We believe in little extras at Camellas-Lloret: our beds are custom made cotton and natural latex futons, bedding is 100% linen, toiletries are organic. Our breakfasts are local and organic as much as possible, there is homemade granola and jam to go with yoghurt, fresh cheese, and fruit from local farmers. In the evening you can enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace, or browse our library and listen to records in the lounge. There is a fire pit for chilly evenings in the garden and even an in-house chiropractor for our travel-weary guests.

Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

Camellas-Lloret is in the Cathar country, a region very rich in history and culture as well as great natural beauty. We enjoy a relatively mild climate year round and lots of sunshine. The fortified city and castle of Carcassonne is a 20 minute drive away, as are the medieval towns of Limoux and Mirepoix. Vineyards abound in the countryside surrounding us, and there are many marked walking and biking trails as well as places to taste the local varieties. The canal du midi is close by and makes a perfect destination for a walk and a picnic. Speaking of picnics, the region is world renowned for the quality of its food and there are several beautiful markets to explore. A bit further but still within one hour are the Cathar castles and the Mediterranean...

Montreal

Montreal is a charming village visible from all around thanks to its "collegiale", a large medieval church set on top of a hill. The old center of town is mostly pedestrian and there are shops (bakeries, butcher, restaurants) along the main road. Just outside of town is a small lake and leisure area with a pool, tennis courts and playground.
