The Basse-Normandie region
Famous for its history and World Heritage sites like the D-day beaches or Mont-Saint-Michel, Normandy will also seduce you by its mild climate, its rich culture and the variety of sites to visit. Gastronomy holds an important place in Normandy ; make sure to visit the many local markets and flea markets to make the most of quality cheese, ciders and seafood.
Montpinchon is particularly famous for the bike race that takes place early August every year, where young racers train their legs on the very hilly roads surrounding the village with a finish on "the Wall of Montpinchon". This event gathers thousands of locals and tourists over 4 days, with animations such s fun fair, flea markets, food stalls... When the buzz is over the village goes back to its usual peace and breathtaking landscapes and stunning walking paths and bridleways.

"Relaxing and beautiful"
I would highly recommend la clef des champs for anyone looking for a relaxing Normandy stay. The cottage is within easy drive of all the tourist hotspots. For the grown ups it was simply relaxing and beautiful. And our daughter loved the playground , especially the cute little playhouse, and the friendly animals. Stephanie and David were lovely and provided everything you could possibly need.

"A fantastic stay - will return"
My hubby and I stayed with our two young boys (2 & 1) in June this year. I can not fault our stay at all, it was the perfect getaway. Our hostess was friendly, helpful and attentive. The accommodation a comfortable, clean relaxing haven and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Our boys had plenty of space to run around and explore and our eldest did not want to leave his new 'home' as he called it nor his new little friend and asked if we could live there ! I would not hesitate in recommending La Clef des Champs, we would and will return at some point in the future.

"A lovely and quiet place to stay in Normandy"
We spent 4 days in this lovely Gites. Roselyne gave us a friendly welcome with a lot of advices about what to do in the surrounding. Plus, there was a little gift at arrival : a fresh hand-baked bread and jam. Very Appreciated ! The house was well-decorated, (very) well-equipped and, most of all, very neat ! We were only 2, so we slept in the "parental" bedroom, cosy with a good and large bed. I recommend to stay here without hesitation if you are seeking for nature and a peaceful place.

"Lovely spring break in the French countryside"
Arriving tired after our journey, it was a good start to our holiday to find the gite warm and welcoming with flowers, cider and freshly baked bread. Despite the rather damp weather, we walked across the fields to the river (we were glad we'd remembered to pack our wellies!), and explored some of the country paths, and went in the car to Coutances, and other nearby towns. One afternoon we went to the seaside at Gouville. We were very pleased by the variety of scenery so accessible from the gite. We were very impressed with the accommodation, which was spotlessly clean and well appointed, and it was reassuring that the Owner spoke excellent English.
