Our Charentais farmhouse enjoys generous room sizes and high ceilings. It is fully refurbished to a high standard with design led décor yet retaining many original features - fireplaces, stone and exposed oak beams. The contemporary kitchen complete with range cooker is ideal for creating feasts to be enjoyed at the large dining table with seating for all to relax and socialise. Close off the outside world in the elegant lounge with choice of comfy chairs; enjoy a book, magazine or DVD from the extensive library. Head for the games room complete with snooker table, another DVD player, Wii console, table football and much more. Upstairs you will find 3 bright and spacious bedrooms; soak in the luxury free-standing bath in the master or use one of the 2 walk-in showers. There is a separate bedroom downstairs with en-suite, own terrace, entrance and sofa for extra peace and quiet. Take advantage of the sunny climate in the tranquil gardens with private swimming pool and stunning views; breakfast on the terrace, laze in the hammock with a glass of local wine, or stroll to the courtyard for a game of Pétanque in the late afternoon sun while the BBQ sizzles. The property is perfect to just drop your suitcase and relax. The local towns of Blanzac and Montmoreau provide all you need for stocking the kitchen and drinks cupboard, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants. The house is well situated to explore the beautiful towns of Aubeterre, Angouleme and Cognac; as well as being near to several golf courses, the lakes of Brossac with their many sporting activities, or the stunning beaches of the Atlantic.

The house is set in one acre mature gently sloping gardens with expansive views over unspoilt French farmland. It is planted with numerous fruit trees, including figs, cherries, walnut, apples, plum, pears, quince and several vines. A hammock is slung in dappled shade to enjoy the tranquility.The large swimming pool (10x5m) is situated to take maximum advantage of the Charente sunshine and views. Soak up the sun on one of the loungers, or enjoy splashing about with some of the toys provided! A large sheltered courtyard surrounded by ancient barns is the perfect setting for a game of Petanque in the evening sun. Whilst a raised terrace immediately in front of the house is the perfect spot for breakfast in the sunshine at the large teak table, which seats 8 comfortably. A separate seating area and BBQ is situated next to a huge weeping willow tree, providing shade.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Chris (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
