Location description from owner

The Dordogne region

The Perigord Noir, our area of the Dordogne is a stunning mix of tree covered valleys hiding many prehistoric sites, caves and a vast variety of medieval chateaux which date back to the hundred years war. The Dordogne and Vezere rivers cut through this area so there are plenty of opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Popular with cyclists and ramblers there are designated walks all around, whilst the less energetic will find many beautiful gardens and picturesque villages with pavement cafes where they can leisurely watch the world go by.

Montignac

Montignac is one of the prettiest little towns in this area, the Vezere river cuts through the centre and is edged by various riverside restaurants and bars. All the usual shops and amenities are available + a small cinema, canoeing, cycling &18 hole crazy golf course whilst still keeping its olde world charm. There are festivals throughout the summer months and also the Monday evening farmers market selling the local delicacies, where you can also sit and eat what you purchase whilst soaking up the atmosphere.
