It is protected by thousands of hectares of forest belonging to the natural biogenetic reserve of Tocchi, of which 100 are part of the villa's estate and 25 are fenced off. The dirt country road leading to the hamlet brings guests into a special land, where humanity and nature are united by the same energy. It is not just an exclusive private villa, but a place in which to experience the ancient local traditions, learn the secrets of vegetable gardening, relish the intense fragrances of the numerous old varieties of roses growing in the garden, let yourself be pampered by the Roman baths and the sauna built of natural wood, spend the nights looking at the stars and yet remain connected to the rest of the world by a wireless internet service.

The ancient abode, already in existence in 1204, when it submitted to the republic of Siena and became its ally, owes its name to the iron, ferro in Italian, that was mined here in the Middle Ages. Over the last eight centuries it was occupied by tenant farmers in the service of wealthy Sienese families, from the Tolomei to the Ardengheschi. Lacking electricity and running water, the hamlet was abandoned in the Second World War. In 1994 it was bought by Patrizia and Vittorio Cambria, who have embarked with enthusiasm on a long and courageous program of conservation and restoration, preserving the villa's original characteristics.

For guests at the ancient residence, stylish interiors in natural materials: terracotta tiles, wooden beams, wrought-iron and great care taken over the combinations of colours. Fourteen of the villa's rooms are large (15-20 sq m), with spacious bathrooms en suite, filled with light and furnished with period pieces. Every detail is a homage to nature lovers: the windows open onto the park, the swimming pools and the woods, stretching as far as the eye can see.Villa delle Stelle is a small hamlet of three adjoining buildings, in which the bedrooms are located, many of them opening off cosy lounges: here guests can sit on comfortable sofas by the fireplace to read, listen to music or sip a good Tuscan wine. Refined in their simplicity, all the spaces combine tradition and luxury: flat-screen TV with satellite links, fast internet connection, linen of local manufacture, toiletries made from olive oil, private bathroom with shower and/or tub, hairdryer, under floor heating supplied with hot water from a biomass-fuelled boiler and solar photovoltaic and thermal panels, as well as a "cellar-effect" cooling system, again located under the floor (on request).

In ancient Rome rest was turned into a way of caring for the body. Following the same principle, in the heart of Tuscany, we help you to regain possession of your time and yourselves. The calidarium, frigidarium and tepidarium guide guests through a unique sensory experience: the three large pools - each containing water at a different temperature - whose infinity edges offer visual continuity with the surrounding green valleys, promise total gratification, whether you are alone or in company. A wellness centre with a variety of facilities all located within a short distance of one another: indoor hot baths, two swimming pools with cascades, a Turkish bath, yoga room and fully equipped gymnasium. This in itself would be enough to make a visit worthwhile, but the Villa is much more.It all starts with the traditional welcome treatments: a refreshing sauna prepares the skin for reinvigorating massages with pure honey and medicinal herbs. In a mix of modern know-how and ancient techniques, wellbeing here answers to a precise philosophy: showing respect for nature and places, in order to rediscover the pleasures of the slow life.
