Villa Pietra del Diavolo, recently restored, is situated in one of the most beautiful and panoramic hill around Montepulciano.
“Pietra del Diavolo” is named after a stone composed of tufa layers particularly common in the local area.
The property is situated in the heart of the “Croce di Febo” farm, with breathtaking views over the valley where Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is produced.
The villa is ideal for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Situated a few minutes drive from the city of Montepulciano and other famous towns such as Pienza (km 10), Monticchiello (km 8), Montalcino (km 30) and Cortona (km 35). Each one of these cities are well-known for their extensive collections of famous works of art.
Pietra del Diavolo produces marvellous wine and olive oil. Beneath the villa, it is possible to visit the vinification and aging cellar with its oak barrels where you can sample the wine and the extra virgin olive oil produced by the owners Silvia and Maurizio. They are also involved with the day-to-day running of their property and take pride in personally meeting all guests on arrival.
On request, the young owners will arrange guided visits to Montepulciano with wine and extra virgin olive oil tasting in their shop in the historical centre as well as a visit to a local “pecorino cheese” factory.
On the ground floor, to welcome the guests and for their use, is a lounge with an open fireplace and a well-equipped kitchen. This leads to an external gazebo for dining al fresco and to enjoy cool evenings out in the open air.
Situated on the same level as the lounge and the open kitchen are three large double bedrooms each with private bathrooms and independent doors leading to a terrace providing splendid panoramic views of the ValdiChiana Valley.
On the first floor there are two large double bedrooms with private bathrooms and a terrace that faces the ValdiChiana Valley.

The Tuscany region
Montepulciano, the wonderful town, called the “Pearl of the '500' for its artistic works and architecture, still keeps intact its beauty.
Walking up the steep suburbs, visitors will discover beautiful historic buildings and churches where the most famous architects of the Renaissance affected the ultimate expression of their art.
Worthy of a special attention the magnificent Piazza Grande with the incomplete façade of the Cathedral and the City Hall.
In the valley below the town, with an unforgettable view, stands the majesty of the Temple of San Biagio and the Museum preserves a valuable collection of the historic Siena's school painters.
Montepulciano finds space also for a lively cultural activity : “Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte”, ”Bruscello”, “Il Bravio delle botti”,” Anteprima del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano” homed in the Fortezza Medicea.
On the finally but not least, there is the prestige of the Wines of Montepulciano:the Rosso D.o.c and especially the Nobile, first Italian wine to be aworded of the D.o.c. certification.
Alongside the very important agricultural economy ,there is a tourist vocation whit the important contribution of the Thermal establishment, where visitors may benefit from the healing properties of thermal water and mud.

"Well-located and roomy house"
We were 10 adults and two children (three generations) spending one week at the house in May of 2014. We found the house very suitable (for five couples) since it had five large bedrooms. It was very convenient that each of the five bedrooms had its own bathroom. The wi-fi at the property functioned very well during our stay. The patio was excellent, with possibilty to eat outside. The location was splendid, as was the scenery, with good reachability to the town of Montepulciano and other interesting locations. The hosts Silvia & Maurizio were very kind and professional.
