Description

Les Rosiers

Walk in through the stable-style front door into the large, open plan living area decorated with a reclaimed log burner and a vintage bike high up on the beam! A large modern oil painting specially commissioned by a local artist completes this eclectic mix of old and new.

This 200 year old building which once housed a wine press has recently been sympathetically restored by professional builders to provide modern, spacious one bedroom accommodation for couples or for family of four* during the summer school holiday period (July and August)

* Children aged 5 and upwards for the mezzanine (spiral staircase). Younger children can use the sofa bed and a put me up bed in the lounge.

The property retains the charm of bygone times and also benefits from the added luxuries one would expect in the 21st century such as underfloor heating and a dishwasher.

The main accommodation (apart from the mezzanine) is entirely on the ground floor and comprises:

A large cathedral-style living room with a dining area and a well appointed fitted kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, small electric oven, four-ring hob and extractor fan, electric kettle, filter coffee maker, toaster).

There’s a flat screen television with satellite channels, a DVD player and DVDs as well as books.

Up the spiral staircase there is the mezzanine with two single beds.

The large patio doors lead to the outdoor seating area and the heated pool.

The lounge leads to a dressing area (large in-built wardrobes, with lots of hanging and storage space) and the light and airy double bedroom with chest of drawers and bedside tables. Door to the garden.

To the other side of the dressing area, there’s a large family-size bathroom with a sunken bath and shower, double vanity unit with two wash hand basins, heated towel rail and toilet. There is also a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

During your stay you can relax on the comfy leather sofa overlooking the garden, swim in the large heated swimming pool and enjoy cycling round the lanes and picturesque villages as well as visiting local attractions, vineyards and of course castles!

Outdoors:

- The spacious courtyard offers off-road parking in front of the gîtes.

- There is an patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ which leads to the

acre-sized garden with swing ball, badminton and outdoor ball games - plenty of space for kicking around a football here!

There are also swings and of course the large, heated swimming pool, operational from the end of May (earlier if the weather is hot!) to the end of September.

We have bicycles we are happy to let you borrow (for which you will have to sign a disclaimer form for insurance purposes).

On site assistance:

Whilst the gîtes are within the same boundary as the owner’s own home, all efforts are made to assure our guests their privacy.

Often our presence is much appreciated as we can help out with all sorts of information.

A WONDERFUL LOCATION!

The gîtes are in the heart of Royal Châteaux country, the major châteaux of which you are encouraged to visit include: Chambord, Chenonceau, Chaumont, Blois, Amboise, Azay-le-Rideaux, Loches, Saumur, Chinon,....

We are also in the heart of excellent wine country and there are some wonderful outdoor markets around.

We are situated 3 kms north of the River Loire, near Amboise, between Tours and Blois.

'Les Bocages' is located on the outskirts of Monteaux, a small village that has a variety of shops and services: a boulangerie, a general store, a butcher's, a post office, a hairdresser’s and, of course, a bar/tabac!

For a wider choice of facilities - a hypermarket, garages, banks, doctors, dentists, pharmacy, petrol station and lots more - there is Onzain, just a five-minute drive away.
