The complex, a traditional building with an interior courtyard, consists of four independent apartments, each offering numerous amenities for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The rooms are personalized with original paintings and furnished to a very high standard. The garden is a special place, offering peace and calm, ideal for relaxing with a good book or for a sunset cocktail while enjoying the breathtaking views.

Location description from owner

The Piedmont region

Cascina del Cedro is located in the rolling countryside of the Langhe and the Monferrato, famous throughout the world not only for their breathtaking scenery and wide selection of artistic and cultural attractions, but above all for the excellence of their food and wines. The rich limestone soils of this hilly area are in fact particularly suited for the cultivation of vines, from which a number of well-known and highly-esteemed Piedmontese wines are produced: Barbera, Barolo, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Moscato and Grignolino. The entire area is a destination not only for food and wine tourism but also for culture and arts, due to the beauty of its countryside – which can be particularly appreciated on tours and excursions by bicycle, on foot or on horseback – and the presence of ancient villages, castles, churches and monuments scattered throughout the area.

The Monferrato

The Monferrato, almost entirely made up by hills, is largely contained within the provinces of Alessandria and Asti and extends to the south, beginning from the right bank of the Po river and reaching to the foot of the Ligurian Apennines on the border with the Provinces of Genoa and Savona.

The Monferrato is one of the Italian wine regions most widely known throughout the world, above all for its red and sparkling wines. Here we find DOC and DOCG (Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita) wines such as Barbera D'Asti, Grignolino, Ruchè, Moscato D'Asti, Brachetto, Asti Spumante and many others; these are accompanied by one of the richest of the traditional cuisines in Italy, featuring such “gems” as white truffle, cardo gobbo (“hunchbacked” cardoon, a Mediterranean plant related to artichoke), fine meats and exquisite deserts.

The Langhe

The Langhe, a historic region in Piedmont situated between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, consists of an extensive system of hills defined by the courses of the Tanaro, Belbo, Bormida di Millesimo and Bormida di Spigno rivers. In Alte (Upper) Langhe, dominated by the growing of Tonda Gentile (Piedmont) hazelnuts made famous by the confectionary products of the Ferrero company in Alba, sheep are raised to produce fine cheeses, many of which have become DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta). Lower down one comes to the Langhe of the red wines, while towards the west (around Neive and Mango) is the Langhe of the Moscato d'Asti (a sparkling white wine). Still further to the west is the area of the Langhe di Asti, rich in wines, fine meats and the exclusive area for production of Robiola di Roccaverano DOP (a soft-ripened cheese).

In addition to fine wines a place of honor must be reserved for the Alba white truffle, famous throughout the world and celebrated in a festival taking place in Alba every year that attracts thousands of visitors from far and near.

Monferrato

Located in the southernmost part of Monferrato, Agliano Terme suddenly comes into sight as a town of immense beauty. Here you will find two completely opposite worlds: agriculture, which has preserved the rhythms and customs of traditional rural life, and tourism, which has been able to offer a vital boost to the town's economy. Along with its scenic treasures to be discovered on foot, horseback or bicycle, Agliano Terme owes its touristic fame to its thermal waters surging from the Vallata delle Fonti (Valley of the Springs), discovered in 1770. Agliano Terme is indeed today famous for its thermal springs, the Fons Salutis and Fonte San Rocco from which water rich in magnesium salts surges at a temperature of 13.8° C. When imbibed the waters are effective for treating inflammatory diseases of the the digestive tract, liver, and biliary tract. When inhaled they aid in the treatment of respiratory tract problems.
