Olhão is also the host to a 'shellfish festival' every August held over 4-5 days - well worth sampling! From Olhao catch a short ferry to one of the 'islands' – Ilha Da Armona or Ilha Da Culatra und Farol.

ABOUT THE HOUSE

Casa dos Sonhos has been refurbished to a high standard by the present owners and offers complete privacy for its guests. The property comprises of three separate ground floor apartments with a communal area. The owners occupy the first floor.

The house has its own pool, outdoor dining facilities and built-in barbeque for the exclusive use of its guests. Each apartment has its own entrance and shares a communal area with access to the pool and terrace. The communal area has the additional facilities of a washing machine, iron and ironing board, Hoover, cane patio settee and two cane chairs, small selection of books, DVD's (for Adults and Children), and CD's

The quality accommodation is set in mature gardens with orange, lemon, apple, peach and avocado trees and overlooks an orange orchard attracting many different varieties of birdlife and wildlife.

Casa dos Sonhos is an ideal spot for relaxing with family and friends and enjoying time together, either around the pool or under the shade , or enjoying a tasty barbeques and late night talks.

The ground floor has Wi-Fi Internet access.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES

A pool area with large sun terrace and covered patio is a perfect area to wind down and for the family to enjoy the freedom of outdoor living and is ideal for socialising

Outdoor furniture includes tables, chairs, parasols, sun loungers.

Solar Panels provide hot water and this supplies all apartments.

ACCOMMODATION

2 BEDROOM APARTMENT – MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY FOUR ADULTS ONE CHILD

Bedroom 1 - has two single beds (can be made up as a double on request) with triple wardrobe/shelf storage space/a wall fan supplemented by the air conditioning in the lounge. A hairdryer is supplied.

Bedroom 2 - has two single beds (can be made up as a double on request) with double wardrobe/shelf storage space/a wall fan supplemented by the air conditioning in the lounge.

A Fold Away Bed or Travel Cot is available.

Bathroom –a large bright bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and basin shared by both bedrooms

Kitchen - well equipped modern kitchen with electric oven/grill cooker & hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, electric kettle, all cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils.

Living Room - comfortable open plan living room with the benefit of powerful Air Conditioning unit in summer and heating in winter, with 2 and 3 seater leather settees, English and Portuguese satellite TV, 32”flat screen TV, CD and DVD player. The living room has an archway opening from the kitchen.

Dining Room – open plan dining room with direct access to the kitchen which makes it easy for you to cater for your party. Dining room table and chairs with seating for four but can be extended to six.

The apartment has a sheltered veranda with a paved patio area to the front of the apartment which overlooks a rural aspect and commands the sun from early morning to late afternoon.

The Algarve region

A number of maps and local information leaflets are available, including a very useful restaurant information book with advice and directions.

GOLF - Golf is available everywhere in the Algarve, there are 7 courses in the East Algarve within easy reach and there is a new golf course in the next village Moncarpacho - only 5 minutes away.

TAVIRA - to the east is only 20 minutes away and is regarded as one of the most traditional well kept Portuguese towns with its Roman Bridge and Medieval castle. Tavira has a wide variety of shops in the town and also the large Gran-Plaza Shopping Centre - more than enough shopping for the most avid shopaholics

FARO - only 20 minutes drive away regarded as the capital of the Algarve has a huge hypermarket and shopping complex called Forum Algarve.

OLHAO - only 10 minutes away is a busy modern town with a lovely waterfront and marina. Its fishing port is the most important in the Eastern Algarve and its fish market is the biggest. During the Sea Food festival in August, half of the water front gardens are closed off and turned into a massive gastronomic and entertainment delight.

MONCARAPACHO - only 5 minutes away a small market town has a beautiful square where you can enjoy a meal and a drink or two with the locals, its bars and restaurants serve excellent and reasonably priced food. Here you will find a Supermarket, 3 or 4 Mini Markets, a Post Office, Chemist, Doctors and a couple of Banks.

CYCLING/MOUNTAIN BIKING - Discover East Algarve by bike! Some wonderful cycle routes are in the surrounding – a marvellous perspective seen from the bicycle saddle and have fun…

SAILING - Hire a sailing boat completely with a sophisticated skipper and discover out from the boat the lagoon and cost of the nature reserve of “Ria Formosa”. Sailing towards the gorgeous sunset and get enchanted by the peerless nature.

BIRD WATCHING – Bird watching has become a popular activity around the Natural Ria Formosa Park which is considered a paradise when it becomes to bird watching activities.

Moncarapacho

MONCARAPACHO - only 5 minutes away by car, a small market town which has a beautiful square where you can enjoy a meal and a drink or two with the locals, its bars and restaurants serve excellent and reasonably priced food. Here you will find a Supermarket, 3 or 4 Mini Markets, a Post Office, Chemist, Doctors and a couple of Banks.

QUELFES - Situated EN398 is 5 minutes away, it has a couple of small local food shops and a couple of local bars and hosts a regular antiques on 4th Sunday of each month and a Produce Market on the 5th Sunday of each month. The Local church Igreja Matiz de Quelfes dates from 16th Century.

The apartment was beautiful and very clean. It was definately home from home without a doubt. We loved the welcome package it was much needed when we arrived so late and was pleasantly surprised and thankfully when we saw it..... The location is great so near to some excellent beaches and restaurants, i will be definately coming back again this year.

Just returned from Portugal with family and stayed at the Casa dos Sonhos two bed apartment. Both bedrooms were to a high standard with quality bed linen, a huge bathroom room, fully equipped kitchen and plush living room. On arrival the hosts had provided us with freshly picked oranges and avocado from their grounds. They even stocked the fridge with wine, cheese and biscuits which added that extra special touch. The grounds are well maintained with pool area and communal area. If you don’t have a car the bus stop is just up the road. This is truly home from home. We are booking again to stay at this property this summer.

It was a great week in the Algarve. We are pleased with the apartment in every way. Modern equipment, food and beverages (including wine) waiting in the fridge, great garden with fruit trees and clean swimming pool, barbecue, and toys for our son. The owner is very nice and helpful. The house is in a very quiet area - at night you can hear only the cicadas. These are just a few minutes from Olhao, Fuseta beach, and the beach in Santa Lucia. Highly recommended for families with children. A car is essential.

The apartment is in an excellent quiet location with easy access to main routes. The apartment was as advertised and very well presented with all equipment needed for our stay. Satellite television, wifi and dvd, washing machine and airer. The pool area is well maintained with plenty of room for guests to eat and relax. A car is essential as the location is set in the beautiful Portuguese countryside with children plenty of parking. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I would heartily recommend this accommodation for families with children of any age: we took our 5 and 15 year old. The pool is the greatest asset. We struggle to find any negatives! The apartment is furnished to a great standard and has a great homely feel. I must say the beds were extremely comfortable which was a great surprise, the communal pool area was great and there was plenty of seating areas to eat breakfast and dinner outside. i would say you do need a car the apartment is in a peaceful area and the nearest town is only 5 minutes away in the car and has some great restaurants and bars. There are also many beaches that are a short car ride away, there is plenty to do. The owners were extremely pleasant and went out their way to make our stay perfect, we will definitely be coming back later on this year.
