“I enjoyed the best week of my four week's holiday in Spain in the attic appartment of the Casas Cueva Muntesal , Monachil, Grana”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2013

We chose this accommodation as we love walking in the mountains. It was ideally situated for this. Easy short bus ride from Granada and lovely walk up a short hill to the Attic. You can walk 2 ways, one takes you past a delightful supermarket. Stunning views and fully self-contained. Plenty places to eat if you don't want to make your own. Everything was clean and comfortable. Katherine was a wonderful hostess and can even supply you with free range eggs and homemade bread!

“A great place to stay”

It was great to be out of the city but easy to get into Granada using bus. Different type of accommodation. We were able to cook what and when we wanted. Lovely welcoming hosts who were able to give good advice about the area. Perhaps the only down side would be the lack of comfortable chairs in the living area.

“really special and great fun”

really lovely place, and nicely done out inside. great fun to stay. nothing like anywhere we've ever stayed before. town is lovely and surrounding countryside was beautiful for walking- gorges, rope bridges and great views.

“living in a cave”

It is a wonderful place!!!very silence and peaceful and very near Granada too The terrace gives you a panoramic view of a valley in Sierra Nevada. we enjoy it a lot and also the bbq We were very happy there and we will come back! We could go to the mountains to relax walking and by car to L´Alambra

“Beautiful location and views and very comfortable accommodation”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2012

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in the attic apartment. The owner, Kathy, was extremely accommodating and met us on arrival. The apartment was large (bigger than I expected) and the extra bonus of free wifi was welcomed. The view out of the window is probably the best in the whole of Monachil. I would definitely recommend the accommodation as comfortable and good value, for couples/small families, who want to explore the nearby Sierra Nevada. Would benefit from better directions to the property - which is actually fairly easy to find - on the web site.

“What a wonderful, memorable stay we had.”

We spent about a week and a half in Casas Cuevas Muntasal in July 2012, and we loved every minute of it. The cave itself is both comfortable and unique; the feeling entering the cool interior from the heat of the afternoon air outside is unforgettable. The owner's residence is right next door, and we were treated like neighbors as much as guests. Muntasal is an interesting place as well- it's also easy to get to Granada via mass transit, and we were able to find some nice hiking suitable for our 4-year old within walking distance of the village.
