Description from owner

Description

The detached 4 bedroomed villa is set in just under an acre of grounds which include an 11 metre swimming pool, small vineyard and mature gardens. There is everything on site for a self -contained holiday but the location is what makes this villa special - lakes, mountains and the coast all less than 2 hours.

Nestled between Liguria, Val d’Aosta, Alps and Lombardy, with the relatively undiscovered gem that is Turin as its capital and the rolling hills of the wine making area of Monferrato, the rice paddies of Novara and the exquisite white truffle of Alba. Piedmont is one of the richest regions in Italy and has recently been recognised as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

The slow food movement began in Piedmont and it is food that is at the heart of the people, land and culture come and try the hazelnuts, truffles, chocolate and cheese! As well as pizza, pasta and ice cream of course.

The area is famed around the world for its selection of fine wine including Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato D’Asti. Many wine tours take place throughout the region and distilleries welcome visitors to sample their wines on site and take samples away at competitive prices.

If it is sport that you enjoy then look no further for the motor enthusiasts the villa is half way between the Gran Prix circuits of Monte Carlo at Monaco and Monza in Milan. Or enjoy exploring the beautiful countryside by mountain biking or hiking. Your bikes can be securely stored on site or we can arrange for bikes to brought to the villa for tours with or without local guide. Are you a football fan then visit the Juventus stadium in Turin or San Siro in Milan you may be lucky enough to catch a game!

“had a great relaxing week in villa Mombaldone with 4 adults and 5 children”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2015

Ideal villa to relax in and around the pool and to explore rural Italy. The area is not very touristically but has to offer some very beautiful mountain roads, views and villages. But even if you don't want to go anywhere and just want to relax the very well equiped villa offers you everything you could wish for. Many thanks to Carole who was very helpful with all the questions we had. Carole managed to respond to our mails almost immediately. Only minus is the slow WiFi, which seems to be a problem especially in August. Hopefully Carole can solve this issue for future guests.

“Excellent!!”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

We were two families traveling With 4 childre fra 2 to 6, and we had a great time. The villa and it's garden were better than expeted. The swimmingpool were perfect for all of us. The closed garden were well suited for small childeren, they can run around and like crazy:) And the owner helped us in a second when we contacted them. We had two perfect week's in Villa Mombaldone:)

Owner's reply: So pleased that you had such a good time.

“Great villa with super swimming pool”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2012

We just returned from a week in the villa, in the beginning of July. We were two families with a small child each. Our daughter (aged 5) in particular absolutely LOVED the swimming pool which had clean warm water and a beautiful view of the Piemonte countryside around, including the little vineyard that is part of the garden. Every day, my husband and daughter spent one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening in the pool, playing, and could have spent more time in it - if we hadn't done sightseeing. The area is beautiful, in a small valley with hills around. There are some pretty villages and plenty of vineyards in the vicinity. If you are willing to spend extra time in the car (1-2 hours each way), you can do a lot more: from the larger cities of Turin or Genova to the mid-sized towns of Asti and Alba, to the Ligurian coast (Noli, Finale Ligure, San Remo) or the Alps. The villa is spacious and very nice, well equipped with everything (ie washing machine etc). It has a huge beautiful garden, we had breakfast and dinner outside almost every day. We even saw fireflies glowing in the evenings! The owner Carole, was extremely helpful, with some more special needs we had and always responded quickly to our queries. We can recommend it highly!

“Fabulous area and villa”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2011

The villa is spacious and very well equipped - everything you need for a wonderfully relaxing holiday is there. The pool is a great size and both the village of Mombaldone and the nearby town of Acqui Terme are well worth visiting. Highly recommended.
