Zelenci Apartment is on the ground floor of a charming conversion of an old alpine farmhouse which contains 5 other holiday apartments. The apartment has 1 bedroom with double sofabed in the living room (sleeps 4 people in total) and offers smart, modern, comfortable facilities and accommodation combined with rustic alpine charm. The apartment offers an entry room, open plan living / dining / kitchen area, double bedroom, spacious bathroom, storage area for skis and free access to the lovely garden surrounding the property. Facilities include wifi, multi-channel flat screen TV, DVD, stereo, DVD collection, books & games. In the kitchen there is a ceramic hob and oven, fridge, kettle and washing machine. There is a garden surrounding the property and a table with bench seats under a walnut tree that would make for a great place for a meal or drink or for kids to play.

The Upper Carniola Region

The north-western part of Slovenia is Alpine and is known as Gorenjska. For centuries, it has been the most developed Slovenian region, with the longest tradition in tourism. It boasts several towns with beautiful historic centres, such as Škofja Loka, Radovljica, Kranj, Kamnik and Tržic.

Kropa and Kamna gorica were centres of iron forging, nail-making and blacksmithing, while the ironworks at Jesenice, the region’s largest, date from more recent times. The town of Jesenice is also the cradle of Slovenian ice-hockey.

Gorenjska is synonymous with winter sports. Numerous ski resorts and the world-famous ski-jumping hills at Planica are all essential elements of the region’s winter image. Bled, Bohinj and Kranjska Gora have for many years been among the most popular Slovenian tourist destinations.

The town of Kranj, the industrial and business hub of Gorenjska, is the seat of many successful companies.

Mojstrana

Apartment Zelenci is located in a tranquil position with great views and in walking distance to the amenities of the small town of Mojstrana - a charming unspoilt alpine place located in the north-west corner of Slovenia just 14km from Kranjska Gora, one of Slovenia's best known mountain resorts. Mojstrana is full of lovely old alpine buildings and character and offers several excellent restaurants, supermarket and the excellent Slovenian Alpine Museum - all within walking distance of the apartment. Behind the village are three exceptionally beautiful valleys - the Vrata, Kot and Krma which each provide a starting point for trips into the Julian Alps and for climbing Triglav, Slovenia's highest mountain and national symbol. The Vrata Valley is the most impressive as it leads to the spectacular North face of Triglav and is also home to the pretty Peri?nik waterfalls.

Generally the area provides for breathtaking scenery and a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature via a myriad of walking trails and other outdoor pursuits both in Winter and Summer. Walking is one of the main Summer attractions with trails to suit all abilities. The pristine Sava Dolinka River runs through Mojstrana and offers scope for excellent flyfishing as well as walks by the River and a fantastic family bike trail which follows the rivers course all the way into Italy past Kranjska Gora. In Winter Mojstrana offers an excellent local ski piste which is an ideal place for for kids and beginners to learn to ski in a gentle and inexpensive ski area.

For skiing there is also just 10 minutes drive away Kranjska Gora - arguably the most famous mountain resort in Slovenia. It is a superb resort for families and beginner – intermediate level skiers and offers a range of other Winter sports in proximity - cross country skiing, sled dog tours, skidoo tours, ice climbing, ski mountaineering & ice skating. With stunning mountain scenery, great access to the Triglav National park and a host of Summer outdoor pursuits it remains very popular all year round. There is also a huge range of mountain biking in the region including a World Cup mountain bike park on the Kranjska Gora ski slopes. There is also a Summer sledging piste on the ski slopes which is very popular with kids. The town of Kranjska Gora itself is a pretty alpine affair, very family friendly, with lots of lively restaurants, bars and a couple of swimming pools / spas.
