The Midi-Pyrénées region
If you want to get away from it all, the Midi-Pyréenés is the largest official region of France, offering stunning vistas, good summer weather and a unique landscape. The ski resorts on the Spanish border offer an economical alternative to those of the French Alps, and this area is dotted with thermal resorts.

There are watersports such as canoeing and pedelloes on the beautiful River Tarn which flows through the town. A full range of cafes, bars and restaurants in Moissac and dotted around the surrounding countryside make eating and drinking a delight.
Montesquieu itself has a local bar which serves an excellent, traditional lunch most days at a very good price and also another restaurant open most evenings. The village 'Fete' is in September and there are regular markets in all the surrounding towns and villages - shopping for dinner could not be easier!

"If you are wanting to stay in the area, this is the house."
We have just had a fantastic week staying at Patoc House, the living space was ample for a family of 11, with plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms and a lovely kitchen, dining, and living area, however we only had one evening of rain so only used the dining table once!, the weather was very very hot, up to 40oc+ one day! so the pool was a welcome relief and our children spent most of their holiday in there, the air conditioned bedrooms were also a pleasant relief too. The area of Moissac was lovely-typical french, vineyards, sunflowers and markets, the market in Moissac on the Sunday morning is well worth a visit, with something for everyone, and then the canal through the town is a very pretty sight. Then you also have the water sports on the River Garonne, with very friendly hire shop for you to try out paddle boards, kayak's and electric boats, very picturesque, with a lovely cafe/restaurant overlooking the River too. Patoc House will be first on my list to stay again if we go to that area, very clean, large, and group friendly with everything you would need for an enjoyable stay.

"A great holiday in a wonderful house."
We had a wonderful week at Patoc house, we stayed with family. Eleven in total. The house has excellent spacious bedrooms, a great kitchen with all the amenities we needed the children got through a lot of the ice from the ice maker in the fridge. But the best part of the holiday was sitting out overlooking the wonderful peaceful view. We eat all our meals outside except one. We spent a few nights laying on the grass watching the shooting stars, a great experience. The children loved the pool and it was a godsend in the heat of the day and a lovely backdrop to an evening bbq. We all loved the house and area and wished we had stayed for longer. We would love to return and would recommend it to any large group.

After such a long journey from Dunkirk it was a very pleasant surprise to arrive at Patoc house. It made the journey all worthwhile. We had a very relaxing week in the fabulous house. The grandchildren spent most of their time in the good sized pool. We even joined them to cool off as it was so hot. The house made our holiday all the more enjoyable you must be very proud to have a beautiful place in such a lovely surrounding area will lovely views from every angle. However we felt a week was not long enough for us to visit and explore more of the surrounding area. But what we saw we thorough enjoyed and we would highly recommend Patoc House.

"A relaxed and tranquil holiday in a contemporary styled farmhouse."
We arrived at the house and were amazed at how big it was inside. The open plan living room has a soaring ceiling that goes right to the roof and has a lovely gallery walkway overlooking it from the first floor. We spent most of our time sat by the large outdoor table watching the children play in the pool and enjoying a view across the field to the hilltop village a short walk away. Everything is beautifully laid out with a contemporary style that makes for very comfortable and airy living accommodation. The bathrooms were great as was the kitchen - very well placed for popping in and out to replenish one's wine glass... Despite the heat of the day the thick walls and light decor meant that we were always 'just right' whether indoors or out. The owners couldn't do enough for us and everything was very well organised. We will be making this place a regular part of our holiday plans from now on.

"Really comfortable well appointed house"
We stayed in Patoc in June 2011, with our young daughter and friends with a young son and found the house perfect for a shared family holiday. The pictures on the website don't really do the house full justice, particularly in terms of space. Bedrooms are really spacious, as are the living areas and the family/games room was brilliant for the children to play in. The kitchen is really well furnished with pretty much anything you might want, even an oyster shucker, although that didn't stop me stabbing myself. Even in June the swimming pool was warm enough to swim in and not want to get out after 2 minutes, and there's plenty of garden games to keep you amused. Overall we had a great time and definitely hope to go again.

"What a wonderful house and location"
We stayed at Patoc for a week of R&R. I can't think of a better place and we have already made plans to return. The house is set in a wonderful location with views over a valley to the village beyond and surrounded by fields, peace and quiet. The facilities are amazing, everything you, your family or friends could need. Very well equipped and large kitchen, and a spectacular and comfortable lounge dining area. A dedicated games room/T.V lounge for the children or teenagers, ample space in bedrooms and bathrooms for a family or two. The weather was amazing, the beautiful out door pool was well used every day and the choice of places to visit exhausted us. We loved it, can you tell?

"Good price property rental - needs sprucing up and a good clean!"
The house looks to be getting quite a problem with rising damp and the doors are very poor quality/don't lock well. I spent quite a few hours cleaning the day after we arrived - the fridge, the cutlery drawers. Real shame because the house is very nice and the location is good - the cleaner is letting the rental down!
So sorry this renter arrived to a less than 100% sparking house, we will certainly look into this issue, however feel it must have been a one-off as all other guests have been delighted with every aspect of the property's presentation. The couple of signs of 'damp' are from 3 years ago when originally converting the 300+ year old property- all dried out and sorted now happily!
