Description from owner

Description

Holiday between Umbria and Tuscany in an 18th century country manor house with a swimming pool with hydro massage, large solarium, Finnish sauna.

Comfortably furnished with some antiques. Air conditioning, satellite TV, mini stereo, telephone, internet, safe, fireplace, terrace and utility room. The apartment is a restoration of the oldest part of the house, typically with the rooms around the lounge entrance. The ceiling with its wooden beams still retains its original decoration. It is in front of the Familys chapel and a little higher up there are a few houses of the small antique hamlet.
Palazzo 1 is typical of that era and would have been the day area.

Cities in Umbria are easily accessible by car due to the short distances and good roads.

Perugia, Gubbio, Orvieto, Spoleto, Citt di Castello, Spello and Todi with their urban architecture, are testimony to the Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance periods. Each town is a jewel, conserved in a countryside where the green is interrupted only by the red roof tiles, the pink stone of Assisi, the yellow volcanic rock of Orvieto , the blue of Lake Trasimeno, and the coloured textiles and ceramics.

The area has many hermitages and monasteries built in beautiful places, you can admire the architecture of Umbrias churches and its art work including the Basilica of San Francesco of Assisi and the Duomo of Orvieto.

Around Case Grazani are many hill tops towns such as Citta delle Pieve, Castiglione del Lago and Panicale. These little hamlets often conserve important works of arts and also enjoy fantastic views across the lake and hills of Umbria.

From Case Graziani it is possible to visit some of the most important wine producing areas in Italy. Orvieto and Montefalco for its Sagrantino and Torgiano and many other wine producing areas that make wine to accompany Umbrias simple country cusine of excellent quality such as locally caught pheasant, rabbit and wild boar, its tagliatelle, beans, mushooms, truffles, salami and fish from the lake , olive oil and world famous chocolate.

Lake Trasimeno with its three islands and national park attract nature lovers, and people who enjoy sailing and fishing.

In Umbria there is also music in the form of the Umbria Jazz festival, Spoleto Festival and the Sagra Musicale.
Historically Chiusi known as Chiugi was so linked with Tuscany topographically and administration wise, that still today it retains some of out local dialect.

CaseGraziani is close to many Tuscan cities and towns: Visit Chiusi and its Etruscan tombs and monuments. Cortona, Arezzo, Chianciano Terme and Montepuciano with its renowned wine of the same name. Visit the Valley of Orcia to see Pienza, Montichello, san Quirco and Bagno Vignoni.
