Set in the county's Lakeland district it is close to both the Shannon River and the Shannon-Erne Waterway. This unspoilt tranquil rural setting is ideal for somebody seeking to get away from it all and relax in the countryside.

The Western Ireland region

Set in south Leitrim, the cottage is in the heart of the county's Lakeland district close to both the Shannon River and the Shannon-Erne Waterway. These waterways allow ample fishing opportunities. The quiet country lanes are ideal for countryside walks. There are numerous loops nears the cottage that would suit cyclists or runners.

Mohill

The historical village of Fenagh is nearby. The village has many sites including a medieval abbey, Neolithic standing stones, a crannog, dolmen, passage tomb and a court tomb. It is where the Book of Fenagh originated as well as St. Caillin's Bell.

The area around Fenagh is home to various wildlife such as the Pine Marten, Stoat, Shrew and Bat. The lake and riverbanks attract wildlife such as Mink, Heron, Kingfisher, and Dragon Fly.

Lough Rynn House and Gardens, outside of Mohill, are a fine example of mid-19th century large estate house and formal gardens. It is well worth a visit to walk the grounds and garden or to enjoy a meal in the hotel. The view of Lough Rynn from the walled garden is impressive.

Pol an Eas Waterfall is just 5 miles from the cottage. This hidden gem is a great location for a photograph or to stop and have a picnic.
