This attractive cottage has been cleverly converted from a 400 year old cider barn and is brimful of character. Situated on a small working farm between Ross-on-Wye and Gloucester, it is ideally located for exploring this increasingly popular area. The Forest of Dean starts just ¼ mile away: Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Wye Valley are a short distance, and Hereford and the Cotswolds an easy day's excursion. The beautiful May Hill National Trust Reserve is just five minutes' walk, providing perfect backdrops for picnic excursions.

Sweet Coppins (the name of a type of a local cider apple) is close to the farmhouse; it has its own small gated/walled patio area at the entrance and visitors are also welcome to share use of the orchard/play area nearby. There is a further area for dog-walking adjoining the orchard and horse & pony rides are available nearby

The cottage is interestingly arranged over four floors and has been converted to a high standard, graded 4 stars by Visit Britain, with all possible needs carefully thought through by its owners including a four poster bed and a whirlpool bath. There is a quality double sofa bed also available for additional visitors. This is a peaceful - and very animal-friendly place, and thoroughly recommended for a relaxed and battery-charging holiday.

Dear Sir, I am sorry you felt the need to put up the only poor (fake) review we have had in years of business. You were embarrassed when you arrived with extra guests hidden in the back of your car, that you had neither asked us about or paid for. You were further embarrassed when your two large dogs passed faeces twice on the carpets in front of us, then proceeded to be allowed to jump on the bed (hence the need to ask for a deposit as you clearly had no control of your dogs). I DID NOT at any point enter the cottage when you were out, I just came into the garden area to review the damage your dogs had done digging up the flower border. To add to this your girlfriend booked a celebration birthday cake, which I spent hours making and you then decided to leave without collecting or paying for the cake. Overall the worst guests we have had the pleasure of meeting in 12 years of business.

Why can't I call Liza and Matthew (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Liza and Matthew (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Liza and Matthew (the owner) a message.

If Liza and Matthew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
