Welcome to Le Domaine de Loustalviel, a tiny hamlet of sympathetically restored 19th century farmhouses, set in over seven acres of tranquil, tree-shaded gardens and meadows that slope down to a tiny brook at the border of our land. This house (renovated throughout in 2012) has a large living area, dining room two en suite bedrooms, and a modern kitchen. It has a private garden and outside dining/BBQ area, with terraces front and rear. The house is well equipped with LCD TV, FreeSat, games console and internet access. All towels and linen are supplied. Cot and high chair are also available on request. The Domaine is set amidst lovely rolling hills, and has beautiful views of the Pyrenees. The 12 metre, heated pool (open 1 April-31 October), has a safety fence and large terraced area, and is well equipped with sunbeds and shaded areas. the house is well away from public roads, and is very quiet and private. One and a half kilometres away is Pech Luna, a pretty hilltop village 1,000 ft

One and a half kilometres away is Pech Luna, a pretty hilltop village 1,000 ft up into the rolling foothills of the Pyrenees in the Languedoc region of South West France. It has a church, a mairie, a school, and very little else beyond a serene air of calm and tranquillity. The Domaine is surrounded by ancient towns, churches, lakes, vineyards and prehistoric cave complexes. There are many activities to suit all ages, including just relaxing by the pool. Carcassonne and Toulouse airports within an hour.

The Midi-Pyrénées region

The property borders Langedoc and Midi-Pyrenees regions, with good access to both. The Languedoc is France's largest wine area, with many domaines to visit. It also has medieval Carcassonne, one of the major tourist atractions of southern France. Mid-Pyrenees is rich in Cathar history, with mountains, caves and castles to explore, and is rich in wildlife.

Mirepoix

Mirepoix (20 minutes away) is a hidden gem. A beautiful medieval bastide town, with a cathedral and central square, and a lively market. The area is sparsely populated, and enjoys rolling countryside. There are many attractions within easy reach of the property, including horse riding, walking, lakes, chateaux, gardens and a bison farm.
